Sushi/Sublime; Service/Sad. Been here 3x before and dare to say it’s the best sushi and sashimi in Fairfield County. In fact, it’s NYC quality. It’s superb. However, tonight we brought a party of 6 and they dared to put someone new to waiting on tables who barely spoke a word of English. He could not describe the appetizers; he did not understand our cocktail orders; the guest of honor received his drink 15 minutes after everyone else; a sashimi dinner arrived as a plate of sushi. In summary, service was LESS than abysmal. It was an utter disaster and embarrassment. It was not the server’s fault. Everyone must be given the chance to learn — whether it’s waiting on tables or even learning a new language. So I did not let it reflect in the tip. However, I 100% fault management, who, at the risk of violating a party of 6, did not place significant importance on the influence that this degree of experience could make. With a $400 tab, I would not think that a Proprietor would want to risk a scintilla of reputation on the degree that disastrous service would make. I’m sorry, but it’s flagrant BAD business judgment to risk spoiling an experience for six.Instead of it being a memorable occasion, as our preamble and exhortations claimed, it was an utter embarrassment and testimonial to our LACK of dining discern and judgment as hosts. Again, there is no problem putting a new waiter on tables of 1 or 2, or on lunch orders. But why risk the sheer disgrace associated with spoiling a HUGE tab and the potential public relations damage that comes with it? Despite our raves, now NO ONE in our party will return!!!We may be American but we’re not STUPID.The fish is superb but, as my wife who’s in the food business said, I can NO LONGER recommend Ki Asian to my clients and customers. Management should have SHAME, SHAME, SHAME for their lack of discernment, discrimination and judgement!

Otoro, Truffle, Scallop–Oh my!. The otoro was delicious–incredibly fatty and ‘melt in your mouth’. Also had the scallop, which was actually thin sliced scallop–not scallop diced with mayonnaise (ick). The final course was the TNT lover, which is not what you think–Chopped blue fin toro, caviar, tempura flakes, scallion and asparagus, topped with ahi. Served with truffle soy sauce. TRUFFLE SOY SAUCE (it deserves to be repeated). I will be back!
Local Gem for Asian Food. Finding good Asian food in Danbury is a challenge, finding great food takes a lot of bad experiences. Going to KiAsian last night was not my idea and I was a bit disturbed but it wasn’t my birthday so I showed up at 7 with our group of 8. Very crowded and our table was going to be a while. People have a hard time departing once they begin eating. The service, attention, graciousness and especially the food was worth every minute of waiting. They obviously need a larger restaurant as the stream of diners was constant. The food (and beverages) were spectacular. Outstandingly fresh and prepared to exact recipies, as explained by the 2 foodies in our group. I had a great time and a great meal dispite the fact that I am usually happy with a decent slice of pizza. I allowed others to order for me so I have no idea what to call my dishes, other than delicious.
