  Amazing , 5 Star. I am not one to write a review but my new discovery of Market Place Kitchen & Bar was a great surprise. It is the new crown jewel of Mill Plain Road, & Danbury ! What an amazing menu & awesome decor. Love the reclaimed barn wood and classic brick. The food was amazing but the greatest and most pleasant surprise was our server/guide Rich. What a knowledgable & friendly guy, he was very into the menu and all of the local ingredients , great wine pairing and was just an all around amazing person! This is now my new go to place! Make sure you ask to be seated at Rich’s tables! Watch out Mill Plain Rd, this is how you run an amazing restaurant. Thanks Rich for a great time! Anthony D, Danbury.

  New Restaurant In Danbury. My wife popped up at work yesterday saying that a new restaurant just popped up across the street from our office, and, of course, she stopped in and spoke with the managment and finagled a menu. We liked the menu and ended up going over for drinks and appetizers – which turned into dinner. They opened just a week ago, so they are finding their stride, but so far, things look great. The bar and restaurant area is dark and well appointed, with a lot of rich wood and exposed brick. Nice and dimly lit, so a nice place to bring a date. They do need to tint the windows a bit, as the view of Mill Plain Rd. is unappealing and there was a lot of glare.Other than that, though, it’s an attractive restaurant. We sat and ordered cocktails and three appetizers, the Beef Tartare, the calamari and the pork belly. All were excellent. We also had the shrimp with grits, which was delicious as well. A co-worker joined us for the drinks and shared in the appetizers, and she also gave the place a big thumbs up.For entrees, I went with the squid ink fresh pasta with shrimp and scallops, while my wife went with the veal Milanese. Both entrees were top notch. Well presented, well made and well seasoned. We’ve been having an issue lately where restaurants are afraid to properly season their food, but not so the case here. The meals really could not have been better.I noted that the menu was quite diverse – there were a variety of good Italian dishes, mixed with bar favorites and a nice selection of steaks. Also solid sandwiches for the bar crowd. All in all, we were very pleased with this new restaurant and will definitely be back.
