Generous portions of yummy Italian at down to earth prices!. My family ate here before going to the Bushnell to see a musical and it’s a toss up which we enjoyed more. The cook is 9 years from Napoli and you can taste it in the food. Delicioso! The portions were huge, we took home almost as much as we ate, and the prices put the big name Italian chains to shame. We had tender eggplant parmesan that came with a mountain of linguini with marinara, bountiful ravioli with the same yummy marinara, and the largest small pizza I’ve ever seen! They even gave us complimentary dessert. I’m hard to please when it comes to Italian restaurants, and I left here very happy. Buon appetito!

Italian food at it’s best. Great food at very resonable prices. The pizza is out of this world, Alessandro, the owner, will make anything that you want even if it’s not on the menue but the pizza and the calzones are terrific. There are other dishes that you don’t see at other pizzerias, like fried pizza, fried calzones, one dish that stands out is the half pizza-calzone, best of both worlds. Try Calabrese Pizzeria and you will forget the other places you have been to.

Great food and service.. I happened to stumble upon Carmela’s and what a treat. Food is good, reasonable, huge portions and service that makes you feel like they’ve known you forever. One of those places I can’t wait to visit when coming back.
Good food and nice people. I always get the Carmel’s special which is layers of veal, ham, and eggplant covered with cheese and tomato sauce. It is really good. you also get a side of pasta, which is ridiculous considering the entree portion. Plus your choice of soup or salad. bring your own wine. the family is great and the prices are the best. I don’t go anywhere else for Italian food. Ask for the spinach/white bean/chicken dish…. it is to die for! Its not the menu so you have to ask for it.
Good food in east hartford go to carmela’s pizza. They have the beast food ever 🙂 🙂 🙂
