Mediocre at best …. Ate there tonight. Beef of low quality that was ground, yet didn’t quite eliminate the cartilage. Fries were not freshly made, dry and not hot because they were reheated. Onion rings were not drained, so the oil could be sopped up with a napkin. Won’t go back again.
The burgers are creative and delicious. Cooked just the way you ask. The shoestring onion rings are delicious too!
I was surprised at some of the reviews and complaints. My family and I are frequent diners there. There is something for everyone. The food is very fresh and delicious and a full service bar. Each time, the waitstaff was attentive and friendly. It is the perfect place for a family outing. We recently hosted my 9 year old sons birthday party there. The owner was very accommodating and it was very affordable. They have special occasions and make the atmosphere fun. A talented caricature artist who frequents Flipside managed to entertain and capture the 13 children in our party! They even have outdoor seating in seasonal times and have offered dining with your dog there! Would highly recommend.
I’m a Foodie, trust me. In all honesty, I’m quite shocked at the negative reviews. It is probably more of the pretentious, Fairfield County crowd than anything else. The burgers are fantastic with a strong support from many additional menu items. The bartenders are more than impressionable (and foxy) and the service has always been spot on. As a late night commuter, I typically stop in from the hours of 7-10 if that is any indication of when the service is prime. No doubt I’ll be returning. I definitely recommend the Thai Burger and Goat Burger.
Terrible service. I had to wait for about 40 minutes for a burger that was supposed to be well done but came out rare. After taking a bite noticing it was rare they brought it back and came back 15 minutes later with the same burger that had just been microwaved. I also saw one of the Mexican guys in the back picking his nose then proceed to make the food. All in all I would suggest going to another place for a burger.
DISGUSTING!!!!. There is no doubt that Flipside has good food, however, the service is absolutely terrible. Tonight, my sister and her friends, all of whom have SPECIAL NEEDS, went to the restaurant. After they left, I received a call from her saying that their waitress began swearing at them as they were paying, telling them that she worked her ass off for them and that they should never come back (making one of the girls even cry!!) The waitress did not realize that my sister and her group of friends were going to be leaving her tip on the table and assumed that they weren’t going to leave her anything. Needless to say, they DID NOT leave her a tip because she scared them off, AND the restaurants management WILL be hearing from me tomorrow. This waitress should be absolutely ashamed of herself for embarassing my sister and her friends in front of a full restaurant- absolutely disgusting!!
Slow service but excellent food. They have great burgers and milkshakes.
