Excellent. Angelo’s restaurant (and Angelo’s takeout next door) is a venerable, popular Glastonbury spot. The menu is eclectic and the value is outstanding. The bar is a popular gathering spot and has to be one of the most attractive ‘long’ bars in central CT. Angelo’s is family-run, which helps account for its quality and longevity. Angelo himself still makes pizzas and grinders, though he could kick back and just enjoy. Family members complement nice wait staff. While at times there may be a slight wait at crowded bar times, this is not a deal-breaker. Those who may criticize in previous post may not be aware that the heart-of-gold bartender who is on most times, a pretty lady, has been known to bring food to patron(s) in a nearby nursing home who could not get to their usual place at the bar. This is a bedrock community restaurant with many long-time regulars. Viva Angelo’s!
Pizza is terrific – best in the Glastonbury area BUT………………….. Stay away from the bar – the ‘bartender’ or should I say really disturbed fat woman is anything but welcoming. New to the area we went in to have a cocktail and were treated VERY poorly – we not only waited for over 15 minutes to be talked to – but it wasn’t busy – she was filling her chubby face with food and eventually got around to coming over to see what we wanted. We will not be back
Great food, great value. I have lived in Glastonbury for about 16 years now. Angelo’s has been a restaurant that has been a steady and consistent favorite for my family. The only thing that keeps me out of there is when I’m watching my weight. The food’s so good I tend to overeat. Otherwise, I find myself there almost daily for lunch, weekly for family pizza night and in the restaurant on special occasions. The food is always fresh (not microwaved or reheated), tasty and the portions are generous. Overall, one of the best values in Glastonbury.The other reviews are not representative of the restaurant. There’s simply no way you stay in business as long as Angelo without providing great food and great value.The last thing I’ll say is that I really like that Angelo, the owner, is almost always there watching his business like a hawk. It’s obvious to me this restaurant is his baby. It shows in how the order is always right, hot and on time. I also like that he knows me by name.
Great Food, Great prices!. Been there with my girlfriend a few times and loved the food every time. The red sauce is as good as it gets. The portions are very generous, and you get soup and fresh baked bread with entrees. Cheesecake is delicious as well. Servers seem to be related to the owners and are very friendly and attentive. We were looking for good italian food and we found it.
