26 minutes for a burger! Fast? Not! Pricey too…

    B. Not Very Good. I was excited for this place. I really like the concept (‘fast’ food from locally made/grown resources, not pumped full of chemicals in a factory 1,500 miles away, flash frozen and vacuum sealed etc) but the over all experience was terrible. Firstly, I always cut new restaurants some serious slack when it comes to organization and timeliness, because you can’t expect a brand new place to function like it’s been running for 20 years. But for a burger joint, this was completely unacceptable! We waited, and this is no exaggeration, 25 minutes for two burgers and a single side of fries. At a sit down restaurant this would be expected, but this is a production line burger operation! One body was manning the grill, another body was manning the toppings station, and then there were 3-4 other bodies milling around the counter looking confused and screwing up the orders. When we got there, there were 3 orders in front of us, and as it was lunch time, it started filling up behind us quickly. We weren’t the only ones waiting for 25 minutes, several people became IRATE and demanded their money back and left. Orders were not fulfilled completely before being called out, the couple next to us received a grilled chicken salad but were missing a burger and fries. By the time the burger came out, the woman had finished her salad. When we finally did get our order, one of the burgers wasn’t even the one we ordered, but we took it anyway, we didn’t want to have to wait another 25 minutes for the corrected burger. Now, all of the above would be forgivable and worthy of a second shot if the burgers had blown our taste buds away. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I have small hands and the burger fit in the palm of my hand. I know Americans are fat and have bloated portion size expectations, but this was unreasonably small, more akin to a slider than a burger. The meat itself was unexceptional, flavorless and extremely dried out. Natural grass fed beef is expected to be leaner, but has significantly more flavor. This tasted as generic as the cheap ground burger you find at a chain restaurant like TGIF’s or Chili’s.Finally, we had ordered specialty burgers, and I couldn’t believe how incredibly stingy they were with the toppings! It looked like there was an 1/8th of a teaspoon of chipotle puree scraped across the bun top (buns were bleh too), one meager teaspoon of ‘fresh’ salsa, and one tiny sliver of avocado. Bump the price of the specialty burgers up a couple of dollars if you have to afford to give a little more!Price-wise, $6.50 is not terrible, but honestly I’d rather see them increase the burger size and be a little more generous with the specialty toppings and up the price commensurately. I’m more than willing to pay $$$ for a quality burger!! This mini burglet with a sliver of avocado was just an insult. On a positive note, the fries were damn good, but not worth waiting 25 minutes for.Good concept, not very good product/service.
