What Happened?. I am so disappointed that this restaurant in such a great location and fun atmosphere just gets worse every time I go. In the beginning a few years back the service was awful, but the food made it worth coming back. We were regular customers and the first time I was dissappointed by the food was on a Sunday night a few months back and I thought, I just didn’t like that item. Last night I dined there for the second time in a week and was disappointed on so many levels I don’t know where to start. I brought my best friend there for a late dinner and to take advantage of the half price wine. When I was there a few months ago, they had Vueve Cliquot on the menu and we had planned to share a bottle of one of our favorite champagnes to celebrate. Not only has their food menu been reduced to over priced entrees, mediocre salads and over breaded oysters (the original chef had the right idea), which I had noticed on Thursday night, but now the Sunday special was restricted to a small and unexciting wine list. No champagne or even Cava on it and no Vueve Cliquot at all! We had the one Pinot Grigio which was nowhere near as good as the Kris they used to have and I am sure in the same price range. We each had a salad, I had the roasted beet, which upon my first visit about 9 months ago when the management was changing was delicious and had delicate young greens. On a return visit, it was overwhelmingly arugula, so I asked for a mix of greens this time. It was flavorless, but fresh. My friend had a salad called Arugula and Blue or something and had to ask for more blue cheese so she could taste it. We also had some oysters and delicioius sweet potato fries. Not to mention that, even in the bar, where the service is usually pretty good, the waitress seemed put out that we came in half an hour before they stopped serving. I have celebrated Valentine’s Day, which is my wedding anniversary more that once in this restaurant and I am so incredibly disappointed and a little angry that whoever is running the show over there is ruining what could be a local gem.
Great place to meet friends!. A terrific menu, friendly staff and exceptional kitchen coupled with a great atmosphere. The decor is inviting and the patio is great for meeting up with friends in the summertime. My friends and I come here often and are delighted with Chef Tom’s creations. The scallops are phenomenal! Definitely recommend Park Central!!
