Overrated. Food is pretty good but I’m not feelin the love when I’ve gone there the last few times. I think the staff and ownership needs to revisit the idea that your customers are you livelyhood. Felt more like an inconvenience than a customer.
This is easily the best breakfast spot in Hartford, maybe the planet. They serve the food INSANELY fast, and it is incredibly delicious. Their hashbrowns are the best I have ever tasted, anywhere. I am lucky enough to live close so I can walk to this breakfast Mecca – even when hung over. They have apple walnut pancakes here; enough said.
I used to love this place- but won’t go there ever again!!! Terrible service! No one who works there seems to know what’s going on, food downhill. Time to find a new little jewel in the rough!
A family run operation with spectacular service, inexpensive menu, and great food, this is the best breakfast spot I have ever been to in my life. Also, for the fiber-deficient crowd, the pancakes are whole grain.
Potato Pancakes!. Potato pancakes, potato pancakes, potato pancakes!!(This breakfast nook rocks. Even the toast was good.)
Second Chance. I had wanted to check Mo’s out for a couple of years due to the constant high ratings for it in the Hartford Advocate, but had never gotten around to it. About a year ago, I finally got a chance. I was so excited that I invited a few friends, including my brother who was visiting from New Orleans. The service was slow, but, in their defense, the restaurant was packed. I had the Huevos Rancheros and they weren’t bad, but they weren’t something I’d brag about to anyone. I can’t recall what anyone else ate, but I don’t believe that anyone really enjoyed their meal.Today I figured I’d give them a second chance. When I got there the place was nowhere near as packed as it was before (I think we went on a weekend the first time). The service was very quick. One point for Mo’s! I ordered the same Huevos Rancheros as before since nothing else on their menu really jumped out at me. I was extremely dissappointed. I still can’t quite figure out what it was, but there was a distinct bitter, almost metallic aftertaste in almost every bite. I tried hard to figure out which part of the meal it came from in an attempt to avoid it and enjoy the rest of my meal, but I finally gave up. I choked the rest of the meal down and left.I might go back again, and try something different oen day. God knows I’m a sucker. On a positive note, the girl doing the cooking was cute. So, I guess I have some excuse to be there if I ever find myself choking down their food again.
