Our Go-To Takeout Sushi Place. We tried Yokohama first because it was conveniently located on our way home from work and were very pleased by the quality of the fish and inventiveness of the chefs. They have a wide variety of very good specialty rolls and they always are having good specials to change things up.Generally we will order the sushi to take home, but the interior is nice enough to go out to. And the service is always fast and friendly. The Japanese entrees (non sushi) are also good and interesting. We really enjoy the crispy chicken maki – which tastes kind of like sweet and sour chicken but has a lot going on in there.Overall it’s a strong option if you are in the mood for some Japanese cuisine.
Amazing sushi, hidden in strip mall. Have been regulars for a while. Knocks places in Westport and Greenwich out of the park. Never a fishy smell and ALWAYS order the specials. They are extraordinary. Sushi bar seating a must.

Sushi Adventures. If you are a party of two or less, sit at the sushi bar; most of the chefs are friendly. On weekends they may even have special fish you don’t usually see, not listed on the menu. Try the aji, or the baby yellowtail, or the red snapper, if they have them in. They can be very creative with their rolls; check what’s available and have fun. As far as non-seafood appetizers go, they serve an ample portion of edamame — share it. The age tofu is also good. I haven’t tried all varieties of their appetizers. Weaknesses: the eel sauce on the eel is a litle too sweet for my tastes, and the low-salt soy sauce/tamari tastes a bit watered down. The oyster is way overpriced for the preparation. My favorite regularly-available item is the jalapeno yellowtail, slices of yellowtail with a thin slice of jalapeno on each one, and a tangy drizzle of sauce. I am also partial to the ama ebi (sweet shrimp) which comes with a batter-fried head served on the side.
