Quiche. Gone with the relocation to Main Street is the Victorian charm of the old restaurant, but the friendliness of the entire staff continues. The menu has been greatly expanded and not for the better, but the quiche with a small salad that we customarily order is still available. Orders are now taken by the cashier and delivered to the table. We were delighted by the day’s quiche, spinach and cheese that was served with a fresh garden salad with dressings on the side. I settled on Vidalia onion while my wife choose the house dressing, raspberry vinaigrette. As we were ordering, two members of the staff brought out 4 trays of freshly baked scones. We could not resist ordering a blueberry and a sweet potato that we reheated the next day for breakfast. Although the $3 price of each may initially seem high, these were very large. It is unfortunate though that while each was tasty, these had neither the flavor nor texture associated with a scone.21 Apr, 2012Our favorite luncheon spot. We revisited yesterday (Friday) on a glorious afternoon and we were soon seated at a table for 2. The dining area was close to capacity plus there were several tables occupied outside. We each ordered the quiche of the day – 5 cheeses with spinach, which comes with a side salad. The quiche was just slightly overbaked and the kitchen or server neglected to include the optional bacon we requested. The salad was very fresh and served with a choice of dressings; both opting for their excellent Vidalia onion. This has turned out to be one of our favorite luncheon spots and today’s did not disappoint.25 Jan, 2012How Sweet It Is. I thought I really liked Sweet Harmony when we first visited last July, but it turns out I love Sweet Harmony. We arrived on Tuesday afternoon and were given our choice of tables. The menu includes many options including a sheet of daily specials. We opted for the day’s quiche; 5 cheese with spinach and were given the option of topping the quiche with spinach which we did. The quiche comes with a small salad of baby lettuces and we chose Vidalia onion dressing which is automatically served on the side. The quiche was amazing from the crust, very light, to the topping, crispy bacon. The interior was light, airy and delicious. Service was attentive and everyone in the restaurant had a smile on their face including all the customers. Lunch just doesn’t get much better than this.30 Jul, 2011Excellent. My wife and I are now fans. We each ordered the days soup (Italian sausage, pasta and bean soup), salad and cornbread. Each was outstanding. My only negative is we were charged $8.956 versus the menu price of $6.30 Jul, 2011Excellent lunch. My wife and I had lunch this afternoon and immediately became fans. We each ordered the cup of soup, salad and cornbread. The only negative is we were overcharged by $3 per menu item.

Charming ambiance & delicious food!. Sweet Harmony Caf & Bakery is located in a lovely Victorian less than a block from Middletown’s Russell Library. What first struck me was the beautiful, relaxing ambiance of this cafe — clearly, no detail had been overlooked in creating a comfortable, welcoming environment. We sat in lovely overstuffed chairs next to the fireplace and window, and started our meal with full-leaf mango green tea steeped at our table. (Sweet Harmony offers a wide variety of teas and beverages, and this lovely cafe would certainly be worth the visit for afternoon tea alone!) The lunch menu is varied and prices generally under $10. I chose a falafel wrap with salad — the falafel was cooked perfectly and the tangy yogurt sauce brought out the flavor of the fresh-baked wrap and falafel. The side (green) salad was fresh and tasty with the house raspberry vinaigrette dressing. We couldn’t pass up getting dessert to go (delicious red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and truffle sauce). Sweet Harmony Caf & Bakery offers a very charming and enjoyable experience, and highly recommend it especially if you find yourself in downtown Middletown Monday thru Saturday at lunch-time, or on a Thursday/Friday at dinner-time.
