About
Boulevard 18 Bistro and Wine Bar is a neighborhood restaurant on Main Street in the village of New Canaan CT. The menu is comprised of bistro classics, with our own unique twists. Everything from the frites to the 3 types of sausages, pate, gravlax, pickles, duck confit and desserts including the ice cream and sorbet are made in-house. As many ingredients as possible are organic, sustainable and locally sourced. We give the wine list the same attention. Wines are selected for quality and value with an excellent representation of major regions in France. We feature 20+ wines by the glass, a selection of craft-brewed beer and a full bar, featuring artisanal spirits and cocktails with fresh juices and herbs, and house-made infusions. The beautiful room, in burgundy and dark wood is highlighted by an antique wall sized map of Paris. The custom-made zinc topped bar seats 15. Guests may sit at comfortable banquettes, at the zinc bar, counter or high-top communal table.Details

We were a group of 8. Most enjoyed the meal, but my strip steak was expensive and just fair. The wine list has few reasonably priced choices. The others enjoyed it, but if in town again I would skip it.
This place never disappoints. We have been several times, for special occasions and just for a night out. Make a reservation. Ask for a quiet location – sometimes families bring their not so respectful, well disciplined children and it can spoil your night.
The food is great but it’s a very tight squeeze in the restaurant. The tables are so tightly packed that it’s impossible to not eavesdrop on the neighboring tables conversations.
