Very upsetting. Worst Steakhouse experience in my 41 years of life. Worst dining experience of 2013. I have been to Michael Jordan’s in the past and always enjoyed my experience tonight was different. Tonight’s occasion was my husband’s birthday. The waitress came by and took our drink orders. I ordered a coppola red zinfadel by the glass. Apparently she did not have very good listening skills or I am not very clear when I speak because she asked me if I wanted white zinfandel. Nobody unless they were raised in a trailer park would ever order white zinfandel especially in a steakhouse where the star should be beef. . Note to waitress reds go with beef, whites go with poultry and white zinfandel can be found at the sunnyside trailer park. We ordered the Porterhouse for 2 one wedge salad asparagus and mac and cheese. The wedge salad I ordered one for myself. When it came out they split it into two and fed half to me and half to my husband. This was completely inappropriate when I ordered the salad because i am on a carbohydrate restricted diet and can only eat meat and vegetables. The mac and cheese was entirely for my husband so he decided against the salad. We waited about 20 minutes for our porterhouse for two after the salads. The porterhouse was ordered medium rare. The steak came out presliced and there was no way it was 34oz may 24oz or 16oz. I am highly insulted they would presclice the meat where I want to see the juices run and slice it myself i am 41 not 4. The steak was also cold and not for being rare. The steak was 75% brown and slightly pink in the middle. The ends were solidly brown. We had ordered a blue cheese butter and the steak was so dry it immediately absorbed the butter. So I asked the waitstaff about the brown piece and he took the plate away. The manager came to our table telling us that it was Michael Jordan’s standard to cook steak in that matter. He offered to send the chef over. Apparently he thinks it is ok for a customer to tell a primadonna chef that he is lousy at his job and does not know the difference between medium rare and cold medium well. He left and my husband finished his mac and cheese where I no longer had a meal to eat, When the bill came they kept the lousy steak on the bill. I called over the manager and asked him why he was charging me for an improperly piece of cooked meat that he took away. He said he could bring the meat back to me. I asked him to cook something more appropriate and correctly. He said he would charge me. I told him that either he provides me with a steak or he takes it off my bill. He came back 5 minutes later with the incompetent chef and my old steak rewarmed so now it was blatantly well done. I asked the chef if he was proud of his work and if he would eat what he put on our table. He said he would. I told him to eat the overcooked piece of meat he put on my table. I proceeded to tell him about the issues with the steak including the dryness. His answer was because the steak was dry aged. I immediately sent him away for such an ignorant statement before i unleashed a fury of insults. I told the manager that either they were going to arrest me for not paying for a bad steak or he was going to take it off the bill. In the end her took it off the bill and lost a once loyal customer. The worst fine restaurant ive ever been in. The service was under par. Ive never been in any restaurant that was darn near empty ( 3 tables ) and be seated right next to the kitchen in the back. The staff was rude and the meals did not fit the price. With every turn I was left expecting more. First and last time there. We all have bad nights but you never get a second chance to make a first impression.
We ventured away from our favorite Mohegan spot one time and were disappointed.
Told to wait 20 min instead waited 50 but was greeted and served w an amazing waitress shawna or shayna I forgot the name but she made it worth the wait plus the ribs are to die for great food great crowd great server…hoping I don’t wait that long again but wil return
More than a sports bar. I met several friends there Saturday night… It was very enjoyable. Starting with the Champagne Martini… very nice. The artichoke dip was very good, though the toasts were a bit salty. I decided to try the shrimp/lobster pasta. I was very surprised how much shrimp and lobster was in the dish. Very filling. For dessert, we shared a 10/11 layer chocolate ganache cake… very rich and filling. A casual restaurant, but also very pricy. Still, a nice place for a personal treat.
Food like salmon and Caesar salad were excellent. Very delicious. Prices pretty good for quality. Service was spotty, dopey and lame. Would come back for food though.
Steaks are savory…the best!
