We stopped with a group of 8 of us. The staff instantly greeted and seated us immediately. The server was fast, efficient and pleasant.. The atmosphere was cool with the rustic wood beams and walls. The restroom was clean and believe it or not a few live plants all in great shape. The food met everyone’s expectations. Came highly recommended from a local Old Lyme resident. The food menu had a cross section of a variety of dishes. Surely something for everyone’s palate. This is a place where we shall revisit when we’re in the vicinity.
Great Food in a Charming Place. The atmosphere is perfect; beautiful natural wood panelling like a cabin, a roadside pub and a great outdoor seating area with an interesting fire pit. A real rustic cafe. The menu was impressive with everything from bar foods to full steak and seafood dinners. We tried the local beer with a cheeseburger and both were outstanding. Since we visited during May, we also tried the tacos on the special menu. The fish taco (cod) with cole slaw on soft corn tortilla was delicious. They should keep those on the menu year round. Next time I am in the area, I will definitely make Rustic Cafe a place to visit for a good meal and a few drinks.
