This is my favorite breakfast place out of so many places I have visited. Why? It is a small place in the middle of nowhere in a strip mall, so what makes this so special? You walk in and the look is nostalgia of the 1950’s & 60’s. You are usually greeted by someone that says let me take your name as we are running a x minute wait. Help yourself to coffee! There you will find multiple roast and flavors of coffee with all these mugs. The menu is diversified, fresh, hot and healthy. I was able to get fresh fruit and chicken sausage. The service was fast and the food all came together. Have an allergy, let them know. They will take care of you. So fresh food, good service, locals place and good selection of coffee. Almost feels like home with friends and family.
Not as good as everyone said.. My husband and I went here due to the reviews. The best part was even thought it was busy we only had a ten minute wait. We were seated at an outside table and waited 20 minutes. When our waitress arrived she told us there was coffee inside and to help ourself. The food did arrive fast, but my banana bread French toast was hard. My husband had an omelet that was ok. Never saw the waitress again until she dropped off the bill. Didn’t ask if we would like anything else, just dropped the bill and left.the price was high for breakfast $22 for 2 people, 3 pieces of toast, an omelette and home fries along with 2 cups of coffee.
Excellent food. Owners buy local and organic whenever possible. They are also very attentive to allergies and food preferences. Can get mobbed on the weekends, but who can blame people? Tourists and locals alike are willing to wait, and I agree. Pay attention to the specials board!! Certainly Mystic’s hidden gem.
Favorite breakfast place around!. Not only is the food delicious, but the service is fantastic! My husband, son and I eat at S.I.T. at least one a week. They have self-serve coffee with 4-6 choices of brews and lots of yummy baked goods. 🙂
Been there a Million Times…. And I’d go again! My husband and I used to go almost every saturday when living in CT, even though it was about 40 minutes from our house. The City Scramble was a favorite and the muffins are fantastic. Service was always friendly and we interacted with several very charming members of the waitstaff over the years. I’d completely recomend it!
Can’t go wrong! Chocolate chip pancakes are absolutely delicious and the menu is very affordable for what you get. Used to live in the area but have since moved away…and on a recent visit to CT, I had to go back here! YUM!
