Beef fajitas. Not sure what they are trying to accomplish here. The fajitas plate was as bland and as boring as the menu itself. Maybe lunch is an after thought here?
I Love This Food. This is the best southwestern food in the area. The chef has a way with red sauce. All the flavors are fresh and bright. They even make their own chips in house. The red brick interior is warm and inviting and the service is very good. Fair prices. I eat here frequently and it is always consistent good.
Lackluster food & slooooow service!. I can’t say very much positive about this place – been here a few times to try & give it an adequate chance to redeem itself, but the service was pretty lackluster every time and the food was nothing to write home about. I tried doing takeout a few times as well in case there was something stellar on the menu I missed – this way the slooow-ass service (and subsequent cold food) wouldn’t be an issue. I did find a green chili sauce that I liked and subsequently ordered it a couple of different times (along with a few other misc. things) to jazz up my enchiladas at home as decent green sauce is hard to come by and the jar stuff sold at the store is no good. But after my 3rd time they point-blank refused to sell it to me as take out, completely out of the clear blue sky! It put me at a huge disadvantage as I was having friends from out of town coming over that night and was too short on time to pour over recipes on the internet AND hit the grocery store again…I could not believe it – it had never been an issue before! The explanation I was given by the gal at the counter was that they were worried people would try to sell it as their own.News flash, dude: it’s good, but not *THAT* good, LOL! I just wanted it to accompany the enchiladas I was making that night, that’s all. So there I am, sans green sauce, and only a couple of hours to go before company came. Thanks a lot, asshat – you just lost yourself a customer. A customer who kept *trying* to like your menu and patronize a local business rather than go down to Danbury for some *REAL* Mexican! One good thing did come out of this, though: In my ire at their idiotic paranoia, I got motivated to sit down and find MY OWN recipe for the stuff, which blows theirs out of the water anyway! Just desserts, I’d say.Be forewarned about what others have already stated about this place on yelp: abysmally slow service (even during non prime-time dining hours), cold food, a ho-hum menu, the tortilla chips and salsa are NOT complimentary here (as they are at most Mexican joints) and they will charge you if you want more salsa than the tiny-ass amount they give you, and they reserve the right to suddenly stop serving certain things as take-out. :-p
It is my favorite restaurants the food is always consistent and great
Delicious Southwestern food. Salsa is really a New Milford hidden treasure. The place is tiny, they don’t accept credit cards and there aren’t many tables… but the food is fresh, authentic and delicious. The menu isn’t very large, but everything is tasty. I highly suggest going to their weekend brunch. Every Saturday & Sunday from 11 am until 3 pm. Delicious breakfast burritos and huevos rancheros. Located right in town near Bank Street where all the shops are, too. Good food, location and the owner is very sweet.
One of my favorites. Everything is incredibly fresh and delicious! They make all their own soups, salsas, sauces, salad dressings, and chips. While they only take cash or local check, they are well worth the stop at the atm down the street. I highly recommend the brunch on weekends! Huevos Rancheros, Migas, Billy’s Breakfast Burrito, Burrito Desayuno, and my favorite, Heavenly Homefries. Also, I don’t believe I’ve tasted better pancakes anywhere! Tiny, funky, delicious and worth the wait on busy days. Highly, enthusiastically recommended!
Difficult. My family loves mexican food and we live in New Milford, but we have yet to eat at Salsa. First of all, they have no website. They are also not open on Mondays and they open and close throughout the day at different times for lunch and dinner. This restaurant also does not take credit or debit card. So basically I would love to try it but they seem to be not very customer friendly.
