Never again. 5 months with new management! And this is what customers get? No bread or snacks while waiting for apps which took 45 minutes on a Sunday with a few customers & 2 waitresses! and dinner another 45 minutes later. An hour and 1/2 to eat. no one to complain too, no one to call, no management on site. no customer here!!!!!

Good food/bad live music. We tried this restauarnt out on a Thursday night in June for drinks, food, and fun. We ended up having to leave because the live music was so bad!! One of the singers who rather took the lead had a voice that was screaming – not singing – in a high pitched tone that went through us like a fingernail on a chalk board! We’ve been back on nights with no music but afraid to try it again on an event night.

Had so much fun at the Old Mill for St. Pat’s.. Had the best Fish and chips in the planet. Then I nearly went to heaven when I had the Sour Cherry Cheesecake. I am glad that my friend and I tried this place despite what we read. The people at the next table were devouring the Barbecue Platter. I got to try this in our next visit! Was time that Norwalk got a great BBQ destination!

First and last time. Despite all of the bad reviews, we decided to give the Old Mill Saloon a try since we enjoyed the place when it was Ash Creek Saloon and its very close to home. It was pretty bad. We wont be going back. The service was pretty good. The waitress was friendly. However, the manager was all over us…way too much. I suppose they are trying to make up for the bad service reviews they are getting but no exaggeration, he must have come over to the table 12 times to high five the kids. The food wasnt very good overall. We started out with the fried calamari. It was just ok. I did like the dipping sauce it came with. It wasnt a marinara which was a nice change. The entrees were terrible. I ordered the California wrap which was supposed to have grilled chicken. The chicken wasnt grilled; it was smoked. So smoky that I felt like I survived a wild fire. The French fries were soggy. The kids macaroni and cheese was terrible. My friends husband ordered the fried chicken. He couldnt finish it and thought he was going to vomit. They did take the mac and cheese off the menu when we said the kid didnt like it and they brought a free dessert for the kids which was nice. I think they are trying to work on the service but they really need to work on the food too.

BAD Dinner review – 9/28/13. 2nd opening night. Went there with a group of 5 around 5:30pm. The hostess didn’t greet us with a warm welcome. After we were seated, it took about 10 minutes for a waitress to give us the menu. She indicated she had many years of experience from her prior employment. As we were placing our orders, she didn’t seem to know what items were available since it was their 2nd opening night. Once we placed our order, she came back and told us some of our selections were not available so we had to make alternative selections. She brought the wrong beer for my friend. Couldn’t tell how a Guinness looks like. 4 ppl ordered ribs and one ordered pull pork. The rib orders came out first and the pull pork came out 20 minutes after. Though the pull pork was tasty, general consensus on the ribs was not good. Overcook and tough to eat, doesn’t fall off the bone. Waitress apologized many times for the service and food and insisted dessert and a round of drinks was on the house. Once the bill arrived, they CHARGED us for the dessert. We didn’t dispute this since she also gave us some free drinks to compensate and didn’t want to wait another 20 minutes to get this cleared up. We reluctantly gave the standard 15% tip. A few days later, i checked my credit card bill and they had the nerve to add an ADDITIONAL $6 to my bill. I was so pissed. Bad service, bad food, bad hospitality and bad management. I will NEVER come back again. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER. CUSTOMER BEWARE- CHECK your credit card bills.

Addendum: bartender accidentally served me a bill before I was ready. (I asked for my food to be wrapped). But I asked for another drink. Super cool dude realized the mistake and comped me the drink. That’s a professional. Kudos to the man.27 Sep, 2013Damn you iPhone. ribs, not rubs. If I wanted rubs I’d go to the local mexi-brothel.27 Sep, 2013Opening night. The atmosphere is pretty much the same as the old Ash Creek Saloon, though I prefer the new ol’ timey music. Beer selection is decent with something for everyone. I chose the Ithica Flower Power IPA as my first, which is my all time favorite IPA. Ordered the rub sampler which includes all three styles: spicy, BBQ, and Memphis dry rub, as well as a portion of fries. Overall rubs were good, dry rub was my favorite, but spicy a close second. Spicy was enough to feel the heat but not enough to burn you at both ends. Fries were crispy wedges. Served with a big bottle of BBQ sauces on the side, good for dippin’, props for not skimpin’. Kind of wished there were a few more interesting items in the menu, but they have something for everyone. They need a good BBQ sampler with all the fixin’s on the menu, rib sampler is too limited. Should be a 3 meat plate with beans and cornbread. Overall, pretty pleased, but it’s really not much different than the former Ash Creek Saloon. Waiting for management to figure out how to separate themselves from the pack. I’d come again.
