Not good. I was very disappointed in this bagel shop. It was very poorly decorated and didn’t seem particularly inviting. We ended up not sitting down because it just wasn’t a nice place to sit. Even though the store wasn’t appealing, we stayed and ordered anyway because we were really hungry and didn’t feel like walking around. Mistake. The bagels were fair at best, but the cold cuts tasted like old socks. I couldn’t even finish my sandwich.

FABULOUS FOOD!!!. Okay, whoever said their baked goods are not the best has never had their outstanding quiches, delicious pies, and the best challah in the world. Their homemade soups are fabulous, and they have a list of ingredients for each soup, so if you have a dairy allergy, or any allergy, you know what is in everything. Their whitefish salad is a knockout, likewise the delicious orzo salad. This place is one fabulous, reasonably priced eatery.

Bagels are fine — all else, not so good.. I like Steve’s….but for only the bagels. I have had better but I think Steve’s bagels are fairly good. They also have a nice selection of cream cheeses. The roasted vegetable cream cheese is great! Sandwiches and soups are fine but overpriced. So the bagels are fine but all of their baked goods are truly and surprisingly bad. The cookies are so overcooked they are as hard as wood. The croissants are flat out disgusting. The crumbcake is not really a crumbcake as much as it is some type of granite rock that they gather from a quarry. The muffins, too, are just terrible. It’s surprising to me that the quality of their baked goods is so bad. I know they are called Steve’s Bagels and it’s their main focus but if they can’t make baked goods correctly, then they shouldn’t even bother. The other issue is that it’s a tight space so be prepared for children caterwauling around like feral cats. Some moms and dads simply don’t care if their children are bouncing all over the place like it’s a gymnastics class. For such a type A town, it surprises me that so many Ridgefield moms and dads just don’t care to mind their kids a little better. I have seen many a mom glare at another mom when their kid is literally trying to stand in the refrigerator where the bottled drinks are kept. Good times. So if you are going to Steve’s Bagels, only get the bagels and stay far, far away from the baked goods and if it’s crowded, be prepared for the feral cat kids and glaring moms and just try to move through the line as quick as you can and get out as quick as you can.

Good Bagles But…. The place itself is a nightmare to eat in. Small, tight quarters and bad traffic flow. The food is fine, but getting it to go and sitting in Ballard Park is better if possible.

Best bagels around. Chocolate crosaints are sooo good. Cream cheese us the best I’ve ever had anywhere.
