Extremely accommodating to food sensitivities and the staff was well versed in all menu items and answered questions patiently and with enthusiasm. Delicious and fresh, unique, seasonal options. Can’t wait to go back soon and check out the latest menu
Consistanly fresh, local and delicious. I come here often and am always satisfied with quality of ingridients, amazing flavors and beautiful presentation. Highly reccomend.
Unique and Excellent. I have been to Firebox many times whether it be for a more formal dinner or just for an appetizer and live jazz. The location is one of my favorites in Connecticut. Although some may argue that they find it to be in an odd area, I think its amazing. The building is an old nail factory and from the moment you step into the place you know that at the least you will enjoy the ambiance. Like one of my other favorite restaraunts, River Tavern (Chester), the menu is that of Farm-to-table so it is always changing with the seasons so as far as freshness of ingredients goes, no worries. The entire concept of the restaraunt and Billings Forge is great. Check it out. This place is well worth the visit.
Perfect. Sometimes everything is just perfect. Like last night at Firebox. Strongly recommend the charcuterie, which could serve two easily, and the parsnip soup. Our entrees, the cast iron duck and the scallops, were perfectly prepared and absoultely delicious. The restaurant also had a special Bordeaux, priced right by the bottle that was a just-right accompaniment to both of our meals. I can’t wait to go back.
UNBELIEVABLE! Had the short rib special…fantastic! Everyone at my table said it was one of the best meals EVER! Tiffany (server) was all-pro. friendly, attentive, cute and sense of humor. Don’t miss this place. GREAT!
I made a reservation for 3 at The Firebox with the intent to dine there upon our evening arrival from Bradley Airport. Our flight was late, but fortunately the great folks at Firebox still honored our reservation…even though we arrived when they were about to close their doors. Our server Ben was awesome and clearly was passionate about The Firebox. We loved that. -The Lamb Ragu was our favorite dish of the night. I’m not a huge fan of lamb, but the seasonings and perfect amount of mint made this a delight. -The Stonington Sea Scallops were cooked perfectly, and the bed of farro, brussel sprouts, and butternut squash, was a great fit. -The Cast Iron Duck was cooked slightly rare for my preference, but the flavors were indeed outstanding.
Firebox dinner. Great dinner at firebox, had the duck cooked to perfection!we really love this place, great ambience with the high ceiling in the bar..Only complaint the ladies bathroom could use a good cleaning!
