Flush … Down the tubes.. The food here is not very good, mediocre at best and far overpriced for its low quality. The owner, Ari, is described by most as pompous, boorish, and tactless. This place was popular when Tony Reale sang and drew his following there but it seems to have lost its crowd since he left.
Owner needs anger management. The waiter messed up on an order several times & tried to blame us for his mess ups. The owner literally yelled & tried to humiliate us due to a request to have an uneatened, wrongly prepared meal off the check. The mushrooms were great, the rest of the meals were unforgettable, bland. Took over 2 hours to serve us an appetizer & entrees despite an empty restaraunt. Very dated restaraunt & blah ambience. Overpriced . Will never return. Shame on the owner for his obnoxious presentation. We wanted it to be great, but were completely unimpressed & insulted.
Can’t Wait to Go Back!!. I love Francesco’s!! This past weekend had great weather so my friends and I went to Francesco’s to grab a bite to eat and sit on the patio. Since the weather was so nice we had to wait a little for our table, but the patio is definitely worth the wait! The food is EXCELLENT! I would suggest getting the Veal a Asparagi, it was delicious. Portions are large, but i love left overs so I couldn’t complain. We stayed for a little after dinner in the lounge for the live music, which seems to be popular judging by the amount of people there. I had a great night at Francesco’s and can’t wait to go back!
Here’s Hoping the South Side Italian Section Stays!. The south side of Hartford has some great Italian restaurants / bakeries / delis / grocery stores. Francesco’s is one of them. Great ambiance, I was digging the music, and the service was phenomenal. Now, the food. Ohhhh, the food. First of all, the bread was great. I started with some stuffed mushrooms – they had a seafood stuffing and the sauce was addicting like crack. Next up was a veal dish, topped with proscuitto, cheese, and more cheese; served in a demi-glaze sauce. DELICIOUS. The dish came with a small portion of penne a la vodka, which was equally pleasing. Dessert was the creme brulee which was tasty, but very soupy. I also tried a bite of my boyfriend’s ricotta gelatto – next time (yes, there will be a next time) I’ll be getting that! Tip: Hit the nights when they offer 25% off bottles of wine. I’m not sure what the nights are, but we went on Sunday and they had it. Makes the great Italian reds a bit more affordable. 😉
Great Time, Great Food, Great Service. I’m obsessed with Francesco’s! I think they’ve got the best service, ambiance and food in Hartford! I would definietly recommend it to anyone who asks!
