DON’T GOOOOO!!. It was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad! 1st off we had the worst waiter I have ever experienced, you’d think they’d try and be great so they can get good tips right well clearly thats not how he worked! He was arrogant, rude and literally after he told us two of the items they were out of he said because I just told you we were out of these-don’t ask me for them-and we hadn’t even asked. He was sooooooo rude and kept yelling at the waiter he was working with and slammed dishes and when he finally brought the water he slammed that down and he was unbearable so rude!! other than that the food comes on a metal tray so no matter who orders what it just comes as a big platter that people have to pick off of. Both the turkey and burnt pork tips or whatever they were, were both dry and the tips were all fat no meat pretty much just flabby fat. I only ate the hush puppies and fries because i dont eat meat the hush puppies were pretty good but the fries were not!! Maybe it would be an ok place to just hit the bar one night-even though the prices were pretty steep for the alcohol but other than that it was NOOOOT GOOD!!
The food is exceptional. Each of their 3 sauces are delicious & compliment each dish I tried out nicely. Additionally, other members in my party loved the draft beers. The atmosphere is fitting. That is where my positives end. Our server was pretty good excluding his rudeness at the start of the meal. The biggest negative of the night was the bill. The total was no problem, we knew what we were ordering & an estimate on the cost. That was when we got the bill. The bill had an included gratuity for a party of 4. Even in NYC, Times Square, they require a minimum of 6 before an included gratuity. This was ridiculous (charge was $21). Worst, they did not have a policy on gratuity on the receipt, nor did they have one on their website.Excellent good was ruined by unclear policies & just a completely wtf scheme. Taste it, see if I’m just overreacting.
Second visit still pretty bad. Decided to try it again since first time it was restaurant week and still relatively new. To keep it short, service-not great on either visit, food-decent flavors but reheated or sits under heat lamps very dry and cold on both visits for all food! We will not be making a third visit! It is too bad because Stamford could use a good BBQ restaurant.
Worse Service. Worse service I have ever had, The bartender for one, how did he get his job????, he spent more time on his phone and talking to his co-worker then attending to his customers. There was 2 other people on the bar tops besides my 2 coworkers and I and He forgot what we order. We had to reorder our food and not once did he ever ask if everything was ok, Never the less did he even ask if we needed anything else, he didn’t even offer a glass of water. He was too busy drinking on the job then the paying attention to the only 5 ppl at the bar. He must be working on a salary not tips.
Great BBQ. This has been our week for eating out. First Thai food and now BBQ. The BBQ was great and we will certainly be back.
Perfectly Terrible. We decided to try Bar Q on Sunday night. First off, they were out of the beer we ordered so the waitress suggested a pricier one. The wines started at $8 a glass and went up for wines that cost less than that per bottle in the store. The white sangria for $9 was watered down and had three blueberries floating in it and no other fruit. The waitress told us that we should order starters, mains and sides at one time. They were out of three of our main dish choices even though there were only about 10 people in the restaurant.That included chicken, so we ordered a puny chicken sausage instead. They all came on ONE large metal tray which meant you did not get your own meal. Starters came at the same time. They brought plates but forgot about eating utensils, napkins and barbeque sauce. We asked for water but it never arrived. We ordered the pulled pork because we had heard that the brisket was terrible. The pork was dry and just okay. The corn bread, which was considered a side, never arrived. All in all, a terrible meal and although there was wood stacked outside, there was no sign or smell of a smoker.
Things seem to be getting better. The food when we first went was good, but there were some problems like a grainy mac and cheese. Well, we came back tonight to check things out and we have to say, the mac and cheese was pretty darn good. 🙂 There was a nice baked cheese crust on top with nice pasta beneath in ooey gooey cheese. omnomct.com
