Cosi High Ridge, Stamford, ct. We always liked Brock’s, so we thought we’d give Cosi a try. After shopping Saturday, we just wanted to grab something quick. Well, the guy at the counter was friendly enough, but odd and a real space cadet. After we ordered our food which took three times for him to get it, we had to wait another 25 minutes to get the food. The food was ok for a medium price, but nothing special.Too bad Brock’s left.Next time we’ll go to a local pizza palor or BK instead.

Reviewing Chains. I always wondered why people on this sight even bother to vote, much less review, chain/franchise restaraunts. After all, 99% of the people who go there know exactly what it is, they obviously like it, so why bother reviewing. That said, I went to Cosi for the first time in many years (I used to live within walking distance of one, but that was about 5 years ago and I dont think I have been to one since).I thought it was really good. Maybe the key to these kinds of places is knowing what they can do well and sticking to what works given the time/space/ability to portion control/kitchen and staff limitations. Despite the growing cultural zeigeist of food as artistic expression, places like Cosi take a Henry Ford approach. Once you find something that works, its all about execution.BTW, I also find the food here very affordable for the quality and quantity. For about the same price as a trip to MCD or BK (or the over-rated Five Guys) my kids and I ate much tastier and healthier. Service time as a couple minutes longer, but not much. As the traditional fast food places add items to the menu, I suspect their service times are longer as well.
