What’s going on with this place?. In the nearly 30 years I’ve lived in Stamford, Hope Pizza could always be counted on for great salads and Greek-style pizza. Dinner there on a recent weeknight left me wondering if there is new management or no one watching the kitchen. Or maybe no one cares. Ordered a large chef salad and a small cheese pizza. The salad arrives at the table overflowing with chopped iceberg and romaine, covered with about two cups of shredded mozzarella, but that’s about it. No hardboiled egg, no turkey, no ham, no pepperoncini, no olives (!), no croutons. A few slices of white American cheese and boiled ham make up the rest of the protein. The pizza was oily and dry at the same time, like it was overbaked (but not burned, thankfully — what is going on with local pizza places lately that nearly all delivery pies are over cooked or burned black on the bottom? — it’s getting so that the only decent pizza places will be Springdale and Belltown, and they don’t deliver).
I like to think that I know food. Hope St Pizza is a bit different then your average pizza. I love it. The sauce is a bit sweeter, and it is greasey-er then other pizzas. I like this pizza place. I also enjoy a square slice! Great hangover food or Friday night pizza night.

Great Pizza. This great pizza place is usually packed with families. Park across the street at CVS lot. Delicious, quick, good for take-out. Everything is good here!
