Rip-Off. 50 bucks for a pitcher of margarita’s??…….what a rip-off!!Better go to Lola’s……
A good option. This is one of the better Mexican spots in Stamford. It’s classic Mexican (not authentic), and the prices aren’t bad – a little more expensive than what I will call a ‘lunch Mexican restaurant’. 10x better than Mary Anne’s.I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon, so I can’t weigh in on the atmosphere.
Great Service. I got an excellent impression of this place. Quality is the word that describes it. Awesome people and perfect service from the waiters and chiefs. The food is good but what I liked most was the frosted ice cream… DELICIOUS!!! 🙂
Best Guacamole EVER!. Riviera Maya is one of those restaurants I’d categorize under really GOOD Mexican. Not fantastic, but definitely good and reliable. What makes it really GOOD and not just good? FRESH GUACAMOLE and JALEPENO MARGARITAS. Yep, both take the award home for best I’ve ever had!The guacamole is made fresh at your table, exactly as you like it. Choose from any or all of the typical ingredients: onions, cilantro, tomato, salt, pepper, fresh-squeeze lime juice, and jalapenos to go as spicy (more please) or as mild (lame) as you want. The finished masterpiece is served up in a heavy stone bowl placed in the center of the table (or right in front of my face if you’re dining with me).To wash it all down is the most fantastic margarita that both cools the senses and burns the tongue at the same time: the jalapeno margarita. Not too weak, not to strong, get it frozen or on the rocks, you really can’t go wrong with this ying and yang cocktail, which is just spicy enough to give you that tingle, but refreshing enough to wash down the spiciest meal.
Visited Stamford for the first time with my boyfriend, and found this place by chance since it did not show on the GPS. Gotta say I LOVE IT! Will definitely go again! I’m sure you will love it too.
I recently spend the weekend with my gf at Stamford ct and we came across with Riviera Maya, we loved it so much that we went twice, food is great, service awesome, restaurant is so beautiful in and out, highly recommended.
VIva Riviera Maya!. Tried this restaurant for the first time last night and was very impressed–hip atmosphere, great Margaritas, friendly wait staff…and truly amazing Mexican food.I was once of the opinion that it’s not worth spending more than lunch money on Mexican, but Riviera Maya has changed my mind. Whatever spices and impeccably fresh ingredients they are putting in the food over there on Summer street, it’s more than enough to make me shell out a little extra and keep coming back. Not to say it’s expensive–you’ll spend in the neighborhood of $16 to $20 for an entree. Just be sure to order the guacamole. They make it right in front of you, asking you how much jalapeno you can handle, and the result will make you wonder if the stuff you get at the supermarket should really even be called guacamole.
