  (1/15/2018) Talk about a niche restaurant, Soosh serves kosher sushi! I was surprised to find this in the first floor of the Holiday Inn Express. Somewhat dumpy surroundings, but the dining room, while small, was not cramped and was sleek and modern. They have some very expensive personalization on their accessories, it’s a well-care for place. They couldn’t have staged a better scene when I walked in, two professorial types, and Asian and a Jew with a yarmulke having a friendly, spirited conversation over a table full of maki. I sat at the bar (more friendly for lone diners) and got a few pieces of nigiri and the Crown Roll. The rolls tend towards sushi newbs, lots of grilled fish and tempura frying, but they do have the classics. The fish was quite fresh and well-textured. I did miss some of my faves, which happen to be not kosher, so they don’t have them at all, like fish without scales, so no saba (mackerel) or unagi (eel) and no crustaceans, although they do have kani (surimi=imitation crab made from pollock). The place filled up pretty soon with families with kids, tables of young twenty-somethings, and there was a brisk take-out business. Prices the going rate for quality sushi and the specialty maki were quite large. Pro tip: the wines are also kosher and predominantly Baron Herzog, not exactly stunning; stick to the bottled and canned beers, like Sapporo and Asahi.

  I like the sushi I picked at Soosh. It is a hidden place between the holiday inn express and the crown plaza. Service was good and fast. Will be back.
