GOOD FOOD UNBELIEVABLY RUDE. I have now been to The Fez three times. The first was at lunchtime. The place was empty, the service lovely, the food very good. The second time, I had a reservation for Saturday night. The restaurant had a few people seated and many empty tables. We were led to a tiny table crammed into a corner, with one seat facing a wall. Rather than sit there, we moved to the table next to it, which was a corner table with both seats facing the restaurant and musicians. Immediately the host (owner?) stalked up to us and said we could not sit at that table, that it was reserved for a lady who came in every week. We pointed out that the restaurant was half-empty and that our oringinal table was ridiculously small and crammed in. After some discussion, he relunctanly allowed us to stay at our table. We had a great meal, listened to great music, and tried to ignore the dirty looks he gave us the entire evening. Shortly after we got our drinks, the first table was cleared of so that the musicians could use it to eat a quick meal and put their equipment on. Nice. Last night, I had made a reservation and, having raved about the food, took a friend to The Fez. Again, the restaruant was nearly empty. After spending (literally) 10 minutes squinting at a list and asking for my name and phone number four times, the same host grudgingly pointed to a tiny table, near the front door (20 degrees outside) which would have required squeezing through a 4-inch space, only to be seated so close to a piano that part of the tabletop was under it, When we asked for a different table, the host was so rude to us that we decided to leave. He waved his list in our face, told us he had no other tables available (in a 3/4 empty restaurant), and literally stepped on the back of my shoe pushing us out of the restaurant. Wow! An anger management seminar, or at leas a refresher course in customer service would help this gentleman – but it won’t get me back into The Fez ever again.
Really enjoyed this!. Loved this restaurant. Had the salad with the chicken kabob and thought it was excellent! The seasoning was really fabulous and the grapefruit in the salad was a nice departure from the ordinary. I’ll be back to try other items on their menu.
Lamb Chops. This place is awesome! try the butternut squash and lamb chops! amazing!
Seriously I’m so disappointed that we wasted our valentines day here.15 Feb, 2012Not a good experience at all. Poor service, bland food, very small and cluttered accommodations. My fianc and I seen our server twice thought our Meal. Had to hunt him down to speak with him and wen we finally ds get a hold of him he treated us very rudely attending to another table and brushing us off. Moroccan food shouldn’t taste like that. Wouldn’t recommend going here.
Very very good. Their spin on chicken bastilla is phenomenal. The seasonings on everything were sublime. My husband grew up & worked in the Middle East & loved it. The jazz combo were fab as well. We will back soon!
Best Restaurant in Stamford. Anyone who truly thinks this restaurant is terrible must have gone to a different place. There is a reason that you almost always need a reservation. The place is always packed and the reviews are fantastic. The food is fabulous each and every time.25 Mar, 2011Best Restaurant in Stamford. What a great find. The restaurant is beautiful and cozy with a great bar. Staff, Chef, and Bartender are fabulous. Big variety of food from appetizers, chick peas and okra, fingerling pototoes, to small plates, lamb chops, chicken lolipops, great salads and kabobs to the famous entrees, Moraccan Chicken Tagine, Lamb Shank, Steak, and fish. Great Belly dancers on weekends and nightly entertainment during the week. Can’t forget the eclectic wine’s available. Big selection from all over the world and very reasonable. Ask for Eric, he is a genius about wines.
Terrible. We are not snobs. Very cramped seating. cafeteria style table, chairs flatware. Service (not so much). Food. Ok. Bellybdancer. Old. Simply not a great experience. We were embarresed to bring our friends from out of town.
