Far from being an Italian restaurant. The ambience is a copycat from a manhattan restaurant See no reason to go back again!
Magnifico!. Love the atmosphere, the cozy red and black urban industrial decor with the big screen against the back wall that shows vintage black and white films without sound, adore the food. Best dishes sampled recently: Lamb Sliders on polenta in a Barolo wine sauce, fried artichoke and fried cauliflower with marinara sauce, any of the salume or cheese plates, fettucini di mari in a pink sauce (unbelievable fresh and light) and penne puttanesca with just enough heat to make it memorable. Desserts are just the right size (try the tiramisu) and sweetness to make a perfect ending. Great wines by the glass. Service is friendly, efficient and polite. No wonder the place is full all the time.
Reasonable lunch spot, room to improve. If you can bear the noisy (music turned up to drown out the road noise) its a decent lunch spot. One criticism valid to many ‘Italian’ restaurants is that the espresso coffee is miles below basic Italian standards. You need a decent machine (didnt look to see what they have, they probably have a good one), decent freshly ground beans, fresh not UHT milk and someone who knows how to put it together consistently (so you dont get a good one once and a crap one the next time). It’s not rocket science. A good one caps off a good meal. Mine yesterday soured a decent lunch. It’s a pet peeve of mine but plenty of room for improvement.
The great microwaved cusine. This is a offence to italian foodi’m an italian chef on vacation and this is a disaster.Ordered meatballs and atsted frozen microwaved and ossobuco was cold and greasy, food left in the plate after one bite.why people like microwaved food?you can do that at home, for reaL FOOD GO ELSEWHERE.
NICE PLACE. Great menu, nice portions, awesome service and ambiance
No High Chairs. I have to agree with a previous comment about children. I visited this restaurant with my family and was told that they do not have high chairs or booster seats. I was surprised since their menu features pizza. While the environment is a bit hipster, it’s really not upscale enough to warrant excluding children. We stayed and had a pleasant meal, even though it was awkward to eat while holding a baby. It was loud, but that helped cover up any noise our baby made. At the end of the meal the waitress commented on how cute our baby was, which made us feel ok about being there with kids. I’ll wait until we don’t need a high chair, however, to return.
