Amazing Food. So I decided to try something new tonight, and though their were alot of mixed reviews. The food was GREAT! I had a chicken and lamb kabob with rice, salad, bread, and a choice of sauce. I was surprised it was given a bad review because the food was excellent, the service was so friendly and the place has a great feeling to it. I will come again and again! you must check it out,
Fair. On the day my SaveNowCT certificate was set to expire, my wife and I visited this restaurant for the first time. It was fairly early on Sunday evening so there were only a scattering of people in the restaurant proper and bar. We ordered glasses of the house merlot as we perused the menu. Our server seemed to be a bit shy, but performed admirably, soon providing us with ice water accompanied by complimentary pita chips with 2 dipping sauces – coconut curry and tika masala. We each chose a kabob dinner, chicken for my wife and lamb for me with brown rice, pita bread and tzatziki and coconut pineapple curry sauces. The house salad included romaine lettuce, a single cherry tomato, a lonesome olive and a sprinkling of feta in a light dressing. We were surprised at the generous size of the 2 skewers that included large chunks of protein along with green pepper and onions. Neither of us could come close to finishing so we brought home an entire skewer. The marinated meat proved to be tasty enough, but on the tough side even though mine was cooked to medium rare as requested. Overall we felt our experience was no better than fair.
Delicious food & great service!. I had lunch at Elmwood Kabob for the first time today but it won’t be my last. I had a vegetarian kabob with curry sauce, pita bread and green salad. All were very fresh and delicious. The Kabob featured large chunks of fresh grilled vegetables: Red pepper, cauliflower, asparagus, etc. The curry sauce was tasty and a great accompaniment to the vegetables. My server offered me a lovely bowl of vegan vegetable soup that was absolutely amazing. I was impressed with both the wonderful food and fast, friendly service. I highly recommend Elmwood Kabob, it’s a nice addition to the Elmwood / West Hartford restaurant scene.
