Great food, wine, and service. We will most definitely return
Went with a large group. Went here for the first time, was with a large group of friends. We had a late reservation, 9pm. Had bottles of wine, apps, entrees & after dinner drinks. We were the last table in the restaurant but didn’t feel rushed at all. Service was impeccable, even considering we were all pretty demanding and obnoxious after a few bottle of wine. I had the trout with mussels. The trout was great, mussels were real fishy. Thats what I get for getting seafood at a steakhouse right? Everyone else had steaks, which they thought were great. Sides were very good.
Steak very good, appetizers and sides expensive and unremarkable
Already planning our next visit…. My wife and I celebrated our 9-year wedding anniversary with a visit to Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse in West Hartford last night. It’s been nearly 24 hours now, and I’m still dwelling on what will possibly be my greatest dining experience this year. The food was divine, from the simple citrus salad with Gala apples, to the buttery Alaskan King Crab legs and peppered Filet Mignon. The Yukon Potato salad and summer squash sides were the perfect pairing for the entree, and after a perfect cup of coffee, it was on to the dessert. Summer Berry Cobler with Blue Bell vanilla ice cream, and the most heavenly whip cream. We were warned the size of the dessert might be overwhelming, and it certainly was! This, however, did not keep us from enjoying the best berry cobler we’ve ever had. Our server, Lauren, was first class all the way. She made us feel incredibly comfortable. At no point during the meal did we feel rushed to make a decision or finish a course. At the end of the meal, she presented us with a congratulatory card for our anniversary, but also mentioned my wife’s soon-to-be birthday. It was obvious she wasn’t just going through the motions, but truely genuine. We’re already planning our next visit, and hope to be graced with Lauren’s presence once again!
W H Diner. We went to Flemings to celebrate our anniversary and had a fantastic experience. Jeff, our waiter, provided exceptional service. He was very attentive without being overbearing. We started with a flight to pair with the calamari. Jeff suggested we have the sauce on the side, an excellent suggestion. My husband had a NY strip paired with both the Flemings potatoes and the mac cheese (couldn’t decide so we ordered both – great left overs). I went with the fixed price – chose: spinach salad, filet mignon and creme brulee (absolutely awesome!) The meal was not inexpensive but we felt it was worth it. We will definitely return.
