(6/25/2015) Stopped by Jimmy’s on the way to the shore. It’s conveniently located off SR 13. It’s good, cheap, basic food. Got the famous fried chicken (the Perdue processing plant is just up the road) and crab cake platter (we are on the Bay). Chicken was shatteringly crisp, meat fell off the bone, well-seasoned, deeply golden brown crust. Crab cake tasted like local meat, was backfin and some lump, oddly seasoned with dried parsley (I am not a fan), fully cooked, somewhat dry in the middle, had a very thick breaded commercial breadcrumb crust, like a crab Gobstopper (layers and layers). Others had the Meatloaf (2 large slabs, tender, meaty mix) and Country Fried Chicken with gravy (a very large breaded breast with a yellow chicken stock and milk gravy), both excellent, stick to your ribs kind of meals. Sides were tasty in that I know it’s bad for you kind of way, like Scalloped Potatoes made with canned potatoes and Velveeta, Green Bean Casserole with condensed canned cream of mushroom soup and canned green beans. Cucumber and Onion Salad (cool, acidic, refreshing) and Collards (from fresh, whole leaves, no meat in the pot liquor) seem to have been made from fresh. We ate it all with gusto, and had no room for dessert, which is a shame, since they have wonderful looking pies and cakes in a glorious rotating display case. Got a pan of Cinnamon Rolls to go for breakfast the next day, enormous (just slice them up like bread) , rich dough, cinnamon, raisins, nuts, not too sweet, tender, really good. Waitstaff was spot on. Jimmy’s is def worth a visit if you are in need of some serious comfort food.

Great Place. We were first exposed to Jimmy’s Grille where they had an Exhibit at the 2014 Rox Wedding Show in Ocean City, Maryland. We decided to try it out and it was a wonderful experience. Have been recommending it to all our friends and for Catering of Weddings and other events. Sides of corn pudding and sweet potatoes were awesome.

After stopping in 2 or 3 times a year for 18 years. today blew me away.food was still great. waitress on the other hand didn’t have any skills. bringing my pepsi by the rim with her fingers all over my glass was the worst. the no checking up and sitting for 15 min through my meal with no drink at all wasn’t good either I was empty 20 min b4 the burger came… I hate using straws but did today. your hire reviews may need some looking at. kind of grossed out by the whole thing. 35 min to get my burger wasn’t so cool either. sat down at 11:25am got served just after 12. while other people came in an ate and left while we were still there. did she lose my order or what. you were not busy and it just wasn’t the same as my past experiences. sorry about the complaint but Im really am not happy about it.

Pretty Solid. Dined here for the first time today; upon entering the place it felt homey but a tad outdated. Overall I felt like I was walking into a restaurant that was tucked away in some area further south. Next to my table was a poster celebrating their fried chicken winning ‘best of 2007’, so of course I had to try it. I got the combination plate of Fried Chicken & Crab cake with sides of corn pudding and mac & cheese. I was delightfully surprised when the plate came out with a garnish of watermelon and the chicken and crab cake were served overtop a piece of lettuce and under lemon wedges. Overall the food was pretty solid and decent at a reasonable price point so I have no complaints.

Absolutely love the food! The layered banana cake is fantastic and a family favorite. They catered our wedding and it made my day to have their delicious sweet potatoes and Mac and cheese on my big day. The only complaint is the service is usually subpar, but I deal with it for the fried chicken and collard greens.

Best Place to Eat. Great food at very low prices. Baked goods are amazing. If you are going to the ocean, do not miss this place for your dining. It’s a cut above.

Take the Good with the Bad. The food has always been great and with a reasonable price. But the restaurant itself has been filthy every time I have gone.I still go once in a great while because the food is great and sizeable portions. They are also known for their wonderful deserts. From Pretzel salad, Cakes to Banana crme or Lemon meringue pies stacked a mile high. So if you can stand some good food at the price of a dirty restaurant this may be for you!I have also been to several events that have been catered by Jimmy’s and it is outstanding catering!
