Not the same old Hollywood. Since the new ownership, it’s not as good and the service is horrible. I understand it’s just a diner, but come on folks, an untrained cook should still be able to prepare a decent breakfast. I did have a good bloodymary though!
UGG!. My wife and I had breakfast there today and I had to send the home fries back for hashbrowns. The home fries were orange and greasy beyond belief., must have been left over from the day before, horrible. The rest of the food was just bearable and the coffee was watery, I guess we will just have to keep looking for a decent place to eat, suggest you avoid, on the plus side the service was good.
Decent Food. Found the hot turkey sandwich to be pretty good–not the best, but still pretty good. My husband enjoyed his burger and fries here too. Service was fast, but could have been friendlier. Overall, we felt like we got good homestyle food & left satisfied. Prices were a bit high, but food quality seemed worth it. Would eat here again IF looking for comfort food in a relaxed atmosphere.
The food is HORRIBLE! I would recommend ANYONE that wants Good food and service to stay away.my French onion soup tasted like GREASE, my friend asked for a Refill of raspberry tea and received water, my other friend ordered a Shrimp scampi and looked like the yok of the egg was poured over it and tasted horrible, and the cook was also the clean up dude!! NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN
Very Sad. The Hollywood Diner used to be a Dover institution. It closed briefly some years back and was reopened under new management. We has an experience there a while back that caused us to never darken their door again. It involved overpriced food, inadequate portions, lame presentation, bad service and the owner didn’t care when this was all brought to his attention. While the food was always diner fare prior to the new owners, it could be counted on to at least be wholesome and substantial. In the three times that I had gone after the new ownership I found that the quality had declined and service was poor to mediocre. The final experience there though was the last straw and I won’t be going back.
Not worth the trip. We decided to visit this restaurant for lunch. The place was smoky (needs more ventillation), hot, and the food was not very good. The meat on my hamburger was overcooked and the fries must have been left over from the day before and reheated. They were far from crunchy or tasty. My wife’s salad was overpriced and bland and the chicken in it, overcooked…probably left over from the day before. If this is what a diner is supposed to be, we don’t be dining there.
Good for after bars but that’s it
