Worse Experience Ever. A friend and I went here about a month ago and we just wanted a light lunch so we got the endless breadsticks, soup and salad. Everything was fine until we got the 2nd order of breadsticks. (keep in mind that we did not have anything with red sauce) Half way through eating my breadstick, I noticed that there was red sauce on the bottom. I got the waitress right away and she tried to take the basket of bread so I did not have evidence but I would not let her. She got her manager and when the manager got to the table (9 minutes later) she came up with this half-baked idea and told us that it got on the breadstick because the tongs had red sauce on them and she has cleaned them up and everything was OK. But that would not explain how it got on the bottom, if you were picking up bread with dirty tongs it would be on the sides and I would have seen it BEFORE I put it in my mouth. What I am thinking is that they got this particular breadstick from a plate that was going back to the kitchen and recycled it into our breadsticks. We decided to get desert from there because I know that they are all pre-packaged thawed deserts, how could they mess this up. Well just as I was I was taking my first bite, a 4 in dust ball falls right into my plate. I looked up and the celling was disgustingly dusty! I asked the manager how often she had it cleaned and she would not say but said she would have them cleaned that week. She comped my meal but that did not make up for the lack of responsibility and the filthy environment. I cant bring myself to ever go to this Olive Garden again.

Sysco Garden. Where poorly traveled and under-educated rural Americans eat what they think is Italian food.If you want Italian in Dover, go to Mari Monte’s ($$$).If you want Italian food based on pasta and red sauces, go to Roma Italian Ristorante on Bay Rd/Rt 113 ($$). Olive Garden can be nice for pre-prepared, yummy deserts and ok espresso. Olive Garden’s staff is more LGBTQ-friendly than those of some of the old, traditional locally-owned restaurants. There is often a wait for seating. Wheels on over-stuffed chairs can be helpful for those with hip and knee replacements and other mobility limitations. Pharmaceutical reps often use OG for comp’d lunches for doctors’ office staff. It is generally inoffensive if not good.

Unless you’re just there for all you can eat soup salad and breadsticks, skip this place and go to a real Italian restaurant.
