Returned for another visit and tried the brisket. It was again very average. How they cook the meat and the sauce itself is just mediocre. Desert (cherry cobbler) was delicious and the service was fine. If you want BBQ for lunch though go to BBQ grills incorporated on state street28 Dec, 2012I came from the south (Mississippi) and Midwest (Oklahoma) and have had a lot of BBQ. I like the Dover area but there isn’t much in the way of BBQ. Where pigs fly is perhaps a bit above average. My wife and I had the pork. The sauce is average, a little on the tangy/sweet side for me and the pulled pork was a bit stringy. Bread and sides were good. I plan on going bak to try their deserts and other entrees. The service was fine and the atmosphere was fine as well but nothing that was unique or spectacular. There aren’t many options nearby other than BBQ grills incorporated which is only open for lunch. It’s a 6/10 kind of place.
Decent food. Sauce is nothing special. Good service.
The only real good thing was the bread. I ordered ribs and fries and they were bland so was the macaroni. All very bland.
Ehhhh… I had heard it was the best around…it wasn’t gross or anything, but definitely didn’t impress me at all.
Poor greeting at front desk and slow service. the food is ok but ive had better. brisket sandwich was bland under sauced an really not tender.
Great food!. There are very few good places to eat in Dover. Moving here from the south has been a challenge finding decent dining experiences. However, Where Pigs Fly is great! Their baked sweet potatoes are awesome. They make very good freshly brewed tea. Incredible freshly baked bread. Broccoli salad was my first experience and it is incredible. The customer service was terrific. The pulled pork is delicious. Where Pigs Fly is my favorite restaurant in Dover. Good food, good service. I eat here often. I highly recommend them!!
Where’s the smoke?. A mysterious lack of smoke smell should tip you off right when you enter.
