Don’t go there for all you can eat!. We stopped 8/2/13 because we didn’t want to travel another hour to The Old Mill in Delmar, DE. Big mistake. The OLD Mill has a much better all you can eat dinner with deep fried chicken, shrimp, clam strips, corn, crabs, and hushpuppies that taste more like donuts covered in powdered sugar! All that was edible at Medings was the crabs. The corn was terrible and over cooked virtually inedible, and the hushpuppies were like burnt hockey pucks. The service was slow and I would advise anyone to drive the extra hour to the Old MILL for an always great meal.
Really enjoyed our meal! We were looking for seafood that wasn’t a chain, and found a really amazing place. The food was excellent, the live music was enjoyable and a perfect volume, and the service was excellent! We had a great time!
I normally don’t care for seafood, but this was incredibly good! Everything was cooked perfectly and flavorful, you could tell it was fresh. Huge chunks of crab in the crab cakes, moist and meaty. The server was helpful, though they could use more servers, if there was anything negative, it would be that we were infrequently visited, she was stretched thin. But she was helpful and friendly, and gave excellent suggestions.
Nice place. Excellent, meaty Maryland crab chowder. Really good fried oysters. Would go back if in the area.
Never stop and expect hospitality unless you’re buying something. Pregnant and needing a bathroom made difference to them. Told me to go outside in the dark and use the ports pot. I don’t get it.
Don,t go here for atmosphere, go here for the good food. A great seafood diner
