A Rehoboth Ritual. Gus & Gus is one of those places you look forward to going when you are in Rehoboth. Keep in mind, if you are looking for a nice/fancy meal, this isn’t the place for you.With that said, if you are looking for a family friendly place, where you know the food is cooked by people that enjoy serving you, where your hands may get a little greasy, and you will definitely be cheating on your diet, but once you put that french fry in your mouth you know it’s worth it, this is the place for you!I love eating at Gus & Gus, and I love knowing that it will look exactly the same, and the cooks will be the same, and remember me/my family when we arrive.A great restaurant, run by great people! I hope Gus & Gus never changes!!
Quiet Beach Diner with Excellent Food. We stopped in here on a hunch because I was crabbed out and nothing else was appealing. Gus was there and made me the best gyro I have eaten with fresh cucumber sauce wrapped in a freshly warmed pita.Now, the wife is a french fry junkie and we had eaten fries all up and down the coast that week and Gus’s is by far the best. All of the fries we had along the boardwalks in Bethany, OC , and Rehobeth were good but something stood out with Gus’s. They cut em’ fresh and into the fryer and on your plate. The best part is the huge bottle of vinegar on each table to drench them in. The large portion of the fries resembles a large movie theater popcorn bucket yet filled with fresh cut fry goodness. Its more like a feedbag so no less than three or four for the large. As a bonus, Gus is a pretty cool old cat!
Great food, the place is frozen in time. Straight out of the sixties. Love it. Try the chease steak sandwich!
Good cheesesteaks and boardwalk fries
AKA Grease & Grease. We have had mixed experiences here. Food is hit-or-miss. Fried chicken was decent–not great, but good. Fries were great the 1st time we got them, but cold and not so great the 2nd time. Service was fast in the Fried Chicken Restaurant, but OH SO SUPER slow at the boardwalk window. Waited over an HOUR for a greasy small chicken cheesesteak in a line that had maybe 6 customers in front of us. The cheesesteak flavor was decent, but it sure was greasy. The service was terrible. There is one main cook doing ALL the work, while a couple of other people stand around and watch. They need to give this guy a hand–and a handkerchief (since he was sweating–around the food–EWWH). I feel bad for the main chef because he obviously works hard. He must be the only one who knows how to run this place.IF you want Fried Chicken and there is no line…it might be worth a visit. Otherwise, IF you are at all health conscious about what you put into your body–>RUN the other way!
