I won’t eat Pizza Anywhere Else when Louies is in Season. Around here the days are darker between November and March. Its generally accepted that the Earth is on a tilted axis and the northern hemisphere shades away from the sun during those months.. However, a few reputable scientists and scientific minded people like myself are posing a novel theory on the subject — It turns out that during the aforemention time-span Louies Pizza closes shop. Like Galileo before me – I pose that this is the reason our winters are so dire!Joking aside – Louies Pizza is one of the few reasons I remain local to down town Rehoboth. I look forward to their opening day like its some sort of grand spectacle. And I dread their closing like a black cloud hanging over me — over the years this restaurant had become a part of my life. I try to get there once a week, generally I order for pick-up, but will often stop in with a friend or two when its convenient. The menu is limited, and I stick to the basics — Pizza, Chicken CheesSteaks, Cheese Fries and Cherry Coke. In my twenty + years of eating there I’ve never deviated from that limited selection. I’ve been told there salads are top notch by a few female friends, and I’ve always wanted to try the Gyro, but why mess with a good thing??The food is egregiously unhealthy, and people often complain about how greasy the pizza itself is. None of those things concern me. The waitstaff is often overwhelmed in the Summer, but one of the best parts about Louies is they know who their loyal customers are and treat them accordingly. Somehow they know my birth date, and every year I get my entire birthday order free of charge, and am rarely charged foy my Cherry Coke when I eat in. This place is a must-eat – just be sure to stick to the menu items that they do best – pizza, grinders, salads, and cheese fries. They are very consistent with their product; which, is key in the food service industry. A few years back they changed there rolls, I didn’t like the change, but have since gotten used to it. Other local Pizza establishments dont even come close, but that is all personal preference and I am obviously biased. I would recommend this place ot anyone who vacations in the Rehoboth area and wants a change of pace from that tourist trap known as Grottos Pizza (if you go to Grottos; while their Pizza is very unique, they charge ballpark prices for their entire menu — be ready to drop $20 + for a large cheese pizza)

Fast, Cheap, Tasty!. If you are looking for a quick place to get good food, nothing too fancy and nothing too healthy, Louie’s is the place. Everything here is delicious! Sometimes there is a wait though, there is not a whole lot of seating or space. Besides their delicious pizza and infamous grinders, the crushed ice is amazing! With any drink you get, they serve it with soft shaved ice. As a major ice eater, I love it. It is not fancy; you can go in your bathing suit coming right off the beach. If you can ignore the somewhat rude and rushed people and tight spaces, the food is worth it!

Not MY favorite, but OK for a snack. Avoid the SMALL pizza.. Louie’s is a typical greek style pizza. It is loaded up with spices and has very little sauce. The crust is crispy IF you order a single slice, but when we ordered a whole pizza—it was flimsy! There is plenty of cheese on top though. There is indoor dining with table service or a take out window. I mostly visit Louie’s IF I just want a quick slice at a DECENT price. Their single slice is still reasonably priced. However, their SMALL pizza is a rip off. It is more of a personal size pizza & you would be better off ordering 2 regular slices for the price. I found this out the hard way when I took my Mom for lunch there (Louie’s is HER favorite pizza place). We ordered a small & it was hardly enough for the 2 of us to share.

Best on the boardwalk!. During our 4 nights and 5 days at the Rehoboth Beach, this was our favorite. Our 6 year old twins wanted to return for the Pizza Steak Grinders. Go there when it’s not so busy so you don’t feel rushed to leave. (It’s a small restaurant.) After feeling ripped off by overpriced items and small portions at other places on the boardwalk, Louie’s Pizza was a complete surprise. So what if they serve it with paper plates and plastic utensils? If you’re a snob, then go eat elsewhere. The food was hot and delicious. The place was cool with air condition blasting. We were sitting there with wet bottom, sands between our toes, and happy kids.
