Love the Upper Deck for sports. Multiple tv’s….Pizza is better than grottos for sure and they offer some nice low carb items as well. Very good service at the bar.
Stopped in during the off season & ordered take out from the bar. Service was lacking. I put in order for food, bar tender spun on heels without taking drink order. Guess bar tab not a big deal, although he did stop by again 5 mins later to drop a bill and dart off without comment. Watched another potential customer come & go after failure to get acknowledged…guess this place makes their money during the summer. Food was OK. Standard beach fare. Pizza & wings, but nothing to travel out of the way for. Maybe wait staff is better, but I wouldn’t return based on service alone.
Nice!. After about 40 minute wait (not bad for a Friday night), our party of 6 was starving. After a short wait for drinks, we order 2 pizzas and fries. The fries took a little too long to arrive but didn’t disappoint. They were hot and crispy. They were the perfect app before our pizzas arrived. The pizzas were hot and awesome. The pepperoni was just spicy enough and the white pizza satisfied the kids. The dough was fresh and crust was flaky. Overall an A+.
Sad – tarnish of a beach tradition. Really bad service (like they didnt care) and the food just didn’t come close to the original.
If you are a pizza buff, or are from ny, Chicago, or any other pizza town you won’t like the food here. Otherwise good atmosphere and friendly place
LOVE it! We were there for the 4th of July week, 2011. Still have excellent Nic-o-bolis!
Sports Bar Atmosphere. IF you want a Sports Bar–it will probably do. Has a slightly different menu than the original Nicola Pizza–a few new items–minus a few of the old. Has an expanded BAR menu. Pizza was bland and mediocre. Order extra sauce IF you like sauce on your pizza! Expect a noisy crowd on a game night–could be heard from the Avenue with no problem. I would pass on this location IF you want the classic FAMILY friendly atmosphere of the original Nicola Pizza–1st street (which in my opinion was its BEST feature). Hit or Miss? This one is a MISS for me.
