Meh. Flavorless food. The Pad Thai simply consisted of a mish-mash of Asian spices that didn’t come together to create a memorable flavor. The sushi was bland. A REAL disappointment. The roll of paper towel and Windex greeting us at the hostess stand should have been our first clue to this restaurant’s lack of attention to detail. It also bid us goodbye on the way out. Cultured Pearl is where it’s at.
My fianc and I decided to make our weekly trip to stingrays for there happy hour special which is sushi rolls and drink specials. Unfortunately I am 20 years old and he is 22 years old, but we have always been able to sit at the sushi bar with no problems. Upon our arrival to the restaurant the hostess got our menus and began taking us to the sushi bar when she asked if we were both 21, and that if one of us was not 21 or we weren’t with a family we would not be able to eat at the sushi bar. We had never had this problem before so we asked for the manager because we know the hostess was only doing her job. As soon as the manager came out she had an attitude. By the way her name was Andrea. We simply told her that I was not 21 and obviously we did not have any kids with us and she proceeded to tell us we could not partake in the sushi happy hour special. We are locals and personally this is a backstab to us because she basically told us they were trying to upsell happy hour drinks to tourists. My fianc then said if a 16 year old came in with a child and a boyfriend and they wanted happy hour could they get it, and of course she said yes. Andrea then told us she was losing no money by us leaving and not eating there and that she would be happy if we called the owner because she was sure he would love to hear about her. Andrea also told us the sushi bar was full anyways, but that’s funny when the hostess was about to take us there. So basically we dumped so much of our money into this restaurant for the past few years and all they are is money hungry. I am in college and the happy hour was something I enjoyed once a week since there rolls are already overpriced as it is. The funny thing is during the winter there is usually no one eating at the restaurant at times except for us sometimes and maybe one or two other couples. I would NEVER go back to Stingrays I do not recommend it to anyone.
