Great atmosphere and plenty of room. Hubby ordered the pulled pork and fried chicken with fries and loved it. I had the soft shell, the waiter told me it was lightly breaded, I said really? She said, yes and flash fried…. It looks like the chicken. Could hardly taste the crab for all the breeding. They were busy and our waitress was not that attentive with bringing our water. AUCE crabs at the neighboring table looked delicious. Might come back for those but definitely not for the soft shells.

Excellent quality of food. Worth the price. Go early as it got busy very early but worth the wait. King crab was the best and nonstop popcorn for the kids.

We are your typical out-of-towners looking for the classic Delaware coast seafood experience. We were really pleased with our dinner last night. Arrived as the place was quickly filling up, and they sat our family- two adults, two pre-schoolers, and two toddlers- immediately. Not an empty table in the place but our service was quick, helpful and friendly. Even though we have small kids in our family, we were all starving and didn’t want to leave hungry. (Read: we wanted a lot of food but didn’t want to spend a fortune.) We ordered six raw oysters, the crab dip, the huge feast that included six medium blue crabs, two pieces of fried chicken, 1/4 rack of ribs, hush puppies and corn. AND the kids feast that had two crabs, fried chicken and shrimp, corn and hush puppies. Wow! Amazing that ordering an appetizer and two meals (one of which is a kids meal) could feed our ravenous family. Add in five PBRs (don’t judge! They were only twelve ounces, we were there for 2.5 hours and the old bay made us thirsty), and our bill came to $81. Not bad at all for a huge fun meal!We aren’t crab experts but I can tell you that the crab was sweet, the texture was pleasing, and the process was incredibly fun. Oh- and $1 PBRs?! Yes! Yeah, PBR is a cheap rather flavorless beer but it really goes perfectly with the spicy zing of the old bay. We usually explore craft beers and local brewed stuff when we dine out but nah- PBRs hit the spot and for pete’s sake they were cheaper than pop. Who does that??I expected the fried chicken to taste boring and dry- surely they made big batches and set it under a warmer right? Wrong. It was fresh and clearly just pulled out of the fryer. Juicy and perfect. Dining out with four kids under six can be an awkward experience- you don’t want to annoy your hosts or the people sitting next to you- but the waitstaff was so accommodating and friendly, and the place was loud enough that we didn’t feel like jerks when our toddlers pounded the table with their hammers. Waiter even gave us four kids ice creams at the end of our meal.

Don’t waste your time. I started with the wings. the taste was too bad and they were crispy on the outside. inside, they were very fatty. had the crab imperial- first of all, it smelled really bad. I decided to give it a try anyway. bad idea. it tasted as bad as, it smelled. the crab imperial was really dry and lacked flavor. even the water tasted like it was poured out of a hose.

Get the Lobster Bisque!. Seriously, the lobster bisque is reason enough to come to the Crab House – it is fabulously good! My partner said his fried oysters were exactly how he likes them. I had the shrimp stuffed with crab imperial, wonderful flavor. Excellent beer menu, too.Friendly staff. Bright, welcoming interior, with lots of large tables for large groups (and lots of room for lots of crabs). Wheelchair access is very good.
