Writing this review while I wait for my waitress (going on ten minutes now). While both the beer and the food were relatively decent we made the mistake if showing up between services when they were serving their limited menu. Still the food was good. Just surprised to see an abandoned dining room. Maybe we’ll get to go home soon…

Great light lunch!. I was wandering downtown looking for a place to eat and I stumbled across the Chelsea, just across the street from the magnificent old opera house. There’s a few tables under the colorful banner outside; a nicely appointed bar and waiting area when you come in; and a spacious dining room with plenty of booths and tables. I was looking for a nice light lunch with a seasonal flair. I chose the Gazpacho to start with. It was a nice sized bowl with plenty of crunchy cucumber chunks and tomato in a plum tomato soup that was so red! The taste was great with a nice hint of pepper.I also chose the chicken and grilled scallop salad on romaine and baby spinach with the tomato vinegarette. The dressing was a great accent, but so light as to not mask any of the flavor of the beautiful scallops or grilled chicken slices. It was a perfect summer salad on a hot day.Robert, my server was ideal. Right there when I needed something, and timing the food just right, but he left me alone when I was busy enjoying. It was a great meal and I’d love to go back and try the mushroom soup special, the penne pasta special and some of the other seafood.
So-so experience…. I ordered the BBQ chicken pizza. This home made BBQ sauce was amazing but where was the chicken??? This should be called BBQ Bacon pizza instead! my dining partner ordered the Taste of Chelsea which consisted on rockfish, Ceasar salad and butternut squash &ale soup. The fish was cooked perfectly, the soup was delightful ( velvety and creamy yet light)! I think he made out with the better choice today!!
Very good food. I have been here several times for lunch and dinner – from somthing quick to a full meal – everything has been great – try the lamb burger if it is on the menu – outstanding flavors!
Tasty and Fun Food. This is a great addition to the downtown scene. In addition to a really impressive beer list, the chef really works hard and interesting and flavorful meals using plenty of local ingredients. You can order exactly what you want — from bar food (when you want a small nosh) to appetizers, pizza, burgers or a full entree. The TV Dinner specials are hysterical (and really good). And their commitment to using local ingredients is seen throughout the menu — local charcuterie from Miale (awesome), local goat cheese, local vegetables. Run, don’t walk, down to this restaurant.
