Substandard food, poor service.. I should have known that this dining experience was going to be bad from the beginning. Other tables that had been seated after us already had their drinks/appetizers before we even got a menu, which we had to flag someone down to get it for us. I asked for water with lemon (if you’ve ever drank Wilmington tap water you’d know why) and a beer. Our drinks came out, NO lemon, and it took almost 15 minutes to receive my beer, which was warm. Nothing like looking forward to a refreshingly cold beer and end up having a warm one. I ordered Voodoo Shrimp as an appetizer and the Jagerschnitzel as my entree, with the Red Quoina starter salad. The Voodoo shrimp should have been listed on the menu as overcooked, tough to chew shrimp in a BBQ Sauce. It came with about 1/8th of a cup of rice and only 5 shrimp. Next thing I know, here come the meals, but NO salad. The waitress asked if I still wanted it, but who wants a salad as dessert? The Jagerschnitzel was basically just 2 breaded pork chops with ketchup and mushroom on top, nothing like a true Jagerschnitzel. Next, don’t believe the prices on their website, they are much higher at the restaurant Overall, this was a very unpleasant dining experience, and most likely my last visit to Iron Hill Brewery.
Good location, nice space for gatherings, yummy specialty martinis, good selection for beer drinkers (they let you taste test first). Only frustration is that twice now, I’ve gotten hooked on a menu item – but it’s gone when I go back!
The wait was atrocious! Even with a reservation, we had over a 45 minute wait. And the hostess claimed to have called up to cancel, while we received a confirmation of our reservation. The food tasted like frustration!

This little gem is nestled near the Wilmington riverfront, so the upstairs bar area is quite nice to dine at. As for the menu, it may seem very pricy, but the food is elegantly prepared by a chef and some of the entrees are like nothing else I’ve ever eaten in my life! Also, many of the drinks are all specially made right at the restaurant since it is a brewery. The staff is even very nice and accommodating, so I assure that if you want good food, drinks, nice atmosphere and a fun time — you’re in for a treat, just make sure you bring enough money.
We fell upon this place on the way to the Riverwalk and it wasn’t too bad. We just got a beer sampler and the Teriyaki lettuce wraps and they were ok. The beer is good and patience is a must with the staff.
Beer was great, food was less-than-adequate, service was Horrbile (with a capital H). The waitress literally threw a plate at us at one point, rolled her eyes at every request, and treated us worse than a McDonalds staff member (which is less than expected at this caliber of restaurant). Would not eat here, or visit here, again.
