Almost there ….. I had eaten in scratch mcgoo’s twice before this year, and frankly, the food was barely edible. so i didn’t go back, instead opting for the del rose, kelly’s and catherine rooneys. i did like the corner bar atmosphere, but when it’s lunch time, i want decent food. then i heard with the remodel they had hired a new chef, so i gave them a second chance.the food was delicious, however, my panini was refrigerator-cold. someone should let the kitchen staff know it’s not just a sandwich, it’s a hot sandwich, grilled so the flavors can meld. and the wait staff seemed friendly, but a little off kilter – it was dinner time, but it was also happy hour – our waiter kept wandering off after our drink orders, and our appetizer and dinner arrived within 2 minutes of each other. one waitress seemed to be stopping to chat at tables full of men, but not taking orders. hmmmm……i guess they’re not sure if they are a lounge or a restaurant or both, so they have a few kinks to work out. if they do so, it can be one more good option in the area. i’ll give them another chance.
