Fantastic bakery. My husband and I have been customers of this bakery for just a short time but are fans! We ordered my daughter’s christening cake from Lee at Sweet Somethings, and he was able to talk us through what cake would appeal to us the most (FYI, we got the strawberry shortcake). The cake was so yummy – perfect for early summer – and we received tons of compliments on the cake from our guests. It’s made from fresh strawberries – exactly as it should be – with custard instead of cream, giving it a really rich flavor. The cake portion of the cake was moist and flavorful. We have also ordered cupcakes from SS, as well as bought them out of the display case. The chocolate with ganache is probably the best chocolate cupcake I have tasted. Although they’re pricey ($3.50 per cupcake), they’re worth it for a special treat or special occasion. You won’t be sorry. When we ordered cupcakes, Lee was able to accommodate 6 different cupcakes in one order, which we were able to specify in advance. We would definitely go back to Sweet Somethings! I have friends who swear by Serpes but IMO, this bakery has them beat! (Especially now, considering Serpe’s recent issues).
