Dinner. Upon arriving at Ubon( Mothers Day, reservation made two weeks prior), when the hostess finally made contact with us after 5 minutes of waiting, I gave her my name and she accused me of looking at reservation list and taking someone’s table. We get seated and we have to share menus because they don’t have enough. Waitress was doing the best she could, but being short staffed she was struggling. Food was good. When check arrived they had already calculated a gratuity of 20% to the total including alcohol. I spoke to waitress and requested owner stop by, also told her it was not her fault. Owner, Buddy, stopped by and asked what the problem was and I explained. He never apologized. Although he did offer to take the 20% off. I told him that belonged to her and she earned it. He questioned hostess and she denied accusation but did say she asked if I read her list, really?
Great food. But slow service due to staff shortage. Def need to figure out how to run the kitchen and floor.
The Best Thai food in Wilmington….although……The text and background make the menu difficult to read in the low light. Knowing they are closed on Mondays, we’ve driven to the city on two other occasions (on open nights) and they were also closed. Call first. The live music was extremely loud for the small room with 5 piece band. Even though the food is good, this place may be best for take out….they’re still not up to par with the ambiance.
Worst experience ever. 1 hr of delay twice and they never to care about. And one time, a waiter yelled at us for no reason because of pressure. There are only 3+ people serving 50+ customers at one time. Close the business if you are not able to manage.

Rainy May Day slightly-hidden gem. No one on the Riverwalk, but the place was full. Great Happy Hour (until 7!) at the bar. Momochas were great…perfect ratio of meat to wrapper. Ma’s Panang Curry Meatballs had layers of flavor. I’m not a super spicy eater, but even my slightly sweaty brow didn’t stop me from eating the whole serving. They even let me order a side of sauted veggies which isn’t on the menu. The bartender was knowledgeable about the (great) beer selection, interacted just the right amount, and he had an amazing voice to boot.
Traditional regional Thai with contemporary imagination and flare. Pleasant ambience and friendly service. Listen to the spice scale 1-5. 3 is still gonna leave your tongue with a hot legacy.
