Traveling south down US 441 from Gainesville to the historic town of Micanopy, Florida, there is a small family neighborhood casual restaurant for Italian-American food and famous for its pizza. I had the 12 Thin Crust Carne Combo which was excellent. In addition to great pizzas (in Thin Crust and Sicilian styles) Blue Highway offers a Gluten-Free Crust alternative, a selection of Calzones, salads, etc. Best to go during the off hours, between lunch and dinner times, to avoid long waits for a table. If you are lucky to be at table 4, looking over the entire pizzeria, one might start to notice a live version of the movie Mystic Pizza going on.

Blue highway pizza. Probably my favorite place to eat in the gainesville area. no one else’s pizza compares and they’ve also got great salads… love this place. order the pesto pizza with fresh mozzarella and no red sauce. killer.
Went back a couple days ago. Was busy, however service was extremely slow. Ordered appetizer never came. Had to request salad to be delivered. 45 minutes to get salad. Disappointed to say the least.01 May, 2013Omg, great food, great service! Could not ask for a better location. Totally full and want more. Servings perfect! Food perfect! What more could you say? Will continue to come back!
No cheese pizza. I have heard this location in micanopy advertised for over a year.decided to treat my family on12/22/2013 and let them all pick there own pizza.everyone chose thin crust with different toppings.5 in all.ordered pizza to go and was asked if i wanted extra cheese on any?i asked if i needed extra cheese and was told no they are covered.$82.00 +$5.00 take out tip and got pizzas home and could not believe when i opened the boxes to see nothing but sauce with a couple of dot of cheese.all combined pizzas mabe 3.5 lbs.total rip.lobster by the lb is way cheeper.and the pizzas as you can imagine with no cheese to cover ended up dry.advertisement about this place is total hype.money thrown out the door.
Worth every cent.. BobbyJo was extremely helpful in all aspects of our great evening in the Ocala location. Food was absolutely fantastic. We had pizza, salad, and calamari.
