Took my mother there for breakfast and had trouble with the order. The food was sent back to the kitchen. The plate came back with an unusual amount of greasy cheese globbed on top of the signature hash brown casserole with an extra gift of a pubic hair. (unmistakable) Ive heard of people doing this before and now I know its true. Nasty kitchen staff.
Located on I-75 and Archer Road in Gainesville, Florida, Cracker Barrel is different but you get the same experience as the others. A welcoming and friendly atmosphere in a home away from home country style nostalgic interior with rocking chairs outside on the porch. When one is visiting a Cracker Barrel, there is a consistency of quality home-style comfort foods in the breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus. The friendly wait staff is there to help with the many selections. My favorite is always the Lemon Pepper Grilled Rainbow Trout.
Good ol’ Cracker Barrel. I’ve been to a ton of these, especially when I was younger, on family vacations. I stopped in here for breakfast while in town and just thought I should add my review. I had the momma’s pancake breakfast: 3 pancakes, 2 eggs, and bacon. I also tasted the hashbrowns and fried apples off my friend’s plate. All of it was good, just as I expected. We had some apple butter too. If you haven’t tried it, please ask for it. I even bought a jar of it on my way out. Take a look around the store after you eat, you’re sure to find something awesome to take home with you.
Pancakes. Yum. A pancake can be eaten without syrup. These are good pancakes, I ate them without syrup. Oh there was eggs, bacon and biscuits, but the pancakes were delish!
I’m embarrassed to say, but I love this place.. I know, it’s a chain. I would love to diss it, but I can’t. Cracker Barrel (and oddly, Dunkin Donuts of all places) consistently has the best coffee in Gainesville and a good cup of coffee with a meal is a big deal to me. CB has the best Cole slaw in Gainesville too. And the best chicken salad (get it on toasted sourdough bread with lettuce and tomato) Dang y’all, it’s good!. The mashed potatoes are real. They have the best turnip greens in town too! I hate myself for loving a chain, but there you are… The service is above average as well. I leave satisfied.
Yum!. I’ve came here for breakfast twice. My first experience was better but I wouldn’t say my second experience was negative. Very good pricing and the breakfast was very good. Service was good too.
Cracker Barrel. To be honest, I have to say this CB is just satisfactory. Slow service combined with having to beg for napkins, drinks, and a server to place an order are just a few improvements management should make. Although the food is usaully served hot, getting what you ordered is a critical key to outstanding service. Oh, and you gotta love the sassy hostesses…
