Prom 1987 Mr Han’s and two flaming volcanos. Top Gun movie soundtrack playing in the car. Me dawning my white tux with a dusty rose cumber bun and bowtie. My date in her dusty rose dress with hair as tall as I was. Another institution that has yet to fade to black. The duck story was pretty funny but alias an urban legend. 1992 dancing the night away with the Latin band Sin Tempo. The place holds many memories and has been open for 30 years here is two another 30 and many more celebrations.
Mr.. The food is bad and not cleanthe room is dark
YUCK- We just tried this restaurant for the first time & we were SO disspointed. The eggrolls were cold in the middle. The Szechuan- style eggplant was lukewarm, bland & had a slimy cosistency. I have enjoyed this dish @ other restaurants– Han’s version was not tasty. The noodles with vegetables were edible (not horrible but not particularly special either)/- so the three of us filled up on that.
Best Chinese food. I have eaten at many Chinese restaurants and would say that this is the best. The food is excellent and authentic. I highly recommend it.
Best Chinese Restaurant I’ve ever been to. Mr. Han’s is definitely open and better than ever. I have been coming here for special occasions for the past 10 years. I once brought take out from Gainesville to my family in Orlando and they devoured them as soon as I walked in the door. The is hands down the best Chinese food you will ever eat. Not only is the food spectacular, but the owners came out and personally asked us how everything was and gave us special attention. The atmosphere is romantic and classy. I highly recommend bringing 4 people and getting the special dinner with peking duck. It is $24 a person and comes in 6 courses for 4 or more people. It starts with an awesome corn and chicken soup, then these incredible dumplings that are unlike anything I’ve tried, then the peking duck, which makes me salivate just thinking about it. It is sooo good. Crispy skin and the flavor is awesome! Then 3 main dishes comprised of prime steak chinese style –super tender and tasty, shrimp in a slightly hot chili sauce–huge shrimp, and silver dollar chicken which is delicious. The final course is a flaming dessert brought to the table. The drinks are strong but great. This restaurant never disappoints.
Definitely Open!. Mr. Han’s is definitely open! I just ate there for the first time tonight and it was delicious! I highly recommend it to anyone! The staff did an excellent job! You can tell they take pride in the food and restaurant and want to make sure that you are happy. Try it! You will not be disappointed!
Open, never closed, not for sale!. Eric Han died suddenly nearly 18 months ago. Although this was a great loss to his family, friends and customers, his parents have continued to run the business. His parents started the business here in Gainesville many years ago, and they are present on site each and everyday. The food is simply the best Chinese cuisine in North Florida. Authentic, freshly prepared Chinese cuisine in an elegant setting. The original Mr. Han would not have it any other way!
