Went with a group of people. Most of the comments I heard were positive. My shrimp and scallops combo were ok, but nothing to write home about. The batter was a thick batter, instead of the barely covered dredge that I’m used to. The lack of anything else to jump start the shellfish made for a bland meal, and you would think that the garlic mashed potatoes would do something. Again, they were ok, but not enough to do anything with my mouth. The cocktail sauce was your usual sauce, and nothing special. If I go again, I won’t be having the seafood.

We haven’t been here in forever. I was exhausted and we went to an EARLY (4:30) dinner. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. A bit dated. The waitress was very friendly and our food came out quickly and dinner was nicely paced.I ordered beer battered, fried shrimp and my husband ordered fried oysters. The oysters were excellent – plump and juicy. The cheese grits and coleslaw were also good. The coleslaw might be the best I’ve had at a restaurant, the perfect amount of sweet and tangy.I did not give them a higher rating because my shrimp were over breaded and soggy. Not good. The place seems to attract an older crowd. We are in our 40s-50s. The crowd there is in their 80s. This is the case regardless of when you go in. That isn’t a bad thing, but you wouldn’t want to take loud kids or even go for a romantic dinner – unless you are in your 70s-80s. It would be a good place for mother’s day or grandma’s birthday. We will go back, but it will probably be a while.
