I cannot say enough about this place. The food was fantastic and comes in huge portions. The staff was really friendly. This is by far my favorite food in the greater Gainesville area.

It don’t get much better than this !. Growing up in the south I have eaten a lot of B.B.Q. Over the years as well as worked at a few B.B.Q. Joints! But pearls is one of my favorite place to get some really good B.B.Q!!!

Very good Barbecue! My last name is McCue, so I’ve been on a quest for the best Cue, and this is some really good Cue!Best thing about BBQ is that you find some of the best in the most unexpected places. This BBQ joint is located in a gas station on 441. I went there a few times when I lived in Gainesville about 10 years ago. I went again tonight and I can say that they are doing it right! Deep pink smoke penetration into the meats, great sides, and good variety of sauces to compliment the smoked goodness. If you’re looking for good Cue in N. Florida, you need to check this place out! And to the person who was all pissy about waiting for ribs and went to 4 Rivers instead, I’m glad they turned you away, because great BBQ is not rushed. Great BBQ is only ready when it’s ready, and good BBQ joints are not going to sell inferior product by rushing the process, regardless of Your timetable. The reason you left is the same reason you shouldn’t be reviewing a place at which you never have eaten, you don’t get it.Go here for great Cue!

The Best BBQ. Went to visit our daughter at UF and had to come and visit Pearls. Great BBQ the way it should be, nice and moist from the brisket to the ribs. The sweet tea was amazing!!

It’s wonderful BBQ with friendly staff. Only problem seems to be flies. They’re annoying when eating even in a casual friendly place. Food is great!

A hidden GEM in Micanopy!. My son and I had had enough of the twirl girl competition drama, and went out looking for an adventure. We found this Gem on the second drive-by. The location is easy to miss …. it is not your usual BBQ joint, just a couple tables in a tiny stop-and-go market. We found the locals selling fresh produce across the road first. Once inside, and oriented we found the crowd huddled around the meat counter was on to something great. The folks at Pearl’s cook up a pile of great Pork, Beef, Chicken, and Ribs each day along with some rightous sides. The kid and I ordered up Jumbo Pork Sandwiches and Banana Pudding. The meat was spilling over the large bun, and the local sauces were a great compliment to the Q. Our table had, three sauces — Carolina Sweet, Carolina Hot, and Southern Sweet. All were interesting and tasted great. We ordered a combination plate, pork and beef, to take back to the girls. It came with two sides, we picked baked beans and cole slaw … plus two large slices of Texas Toast. They both loved the pork, but found the beef a bit dry.Pearl’s is a lot fo fun and worth a visit. If you can, take time to visit the tiny community of Micanopy (Mick-an-O-pee). Hollywood found it so enchanting they filmed Doc Hollywood there! The town has several stores worth a stop. It is a bit of an adventure locating it off !-75 .. take your time and keep your eyeballs gimballed!

Must stop by!!. We were greeted warmly the second we pulled into the parking lot. The counter is in the back of the country store with numerous tables you can sit at. We ordered the ribs and the brisket with mac and cheese, baked beans, fried okra and green beans. The ribs were extremely tender and fell off the bone. The brisket was juicy and full of flavor. As for the sides, the mac and cheese was probably the least impressive of the sides we tried but still good. The baked beans were the best. We also tried two pieces of pie- the Micanopy Mud and the Butter Pecan Cheesecake. Both were very rich and delicious. If you are ever in the area this is a must try!
