Wahoo’s has good seafood. I usually get fish tacos or just fried shrimp. Really good and generous portions. They also have interesting specialty drinks. There can be a long wait to get in and the main dining room is very loud. The acoustics are terrible, sit in the back room or the porch if the weather is nice.
Service was not great. It was a Sunday night at 5:30 and everything took forever. From when we sat down to when we got a server was twenty minutes and that was after I went to the hostess (who was very friendly) to ask for one. It still took another ten or fifteen minutes to get our waters and nearly half an hour to get our drinks from the bar. And one of them was the wrong drink, which took fifteen minutes to fix. Every time we ordered from the bar after that it took about twenty minutes to get our drinks. The server herself was friendly but took forever between visits to check in. Food was ok. We had the gator tail for an appetizer and it was half delicious and half rubbery. I had the grouper which was great, my boyfriend had snow crab and crawfish. The crawfish was great the snow crab was about half perfect and half over cooked. Overall I’d say the service is way too slow and seemed to be extremely understaffed. Someone in the kitchen is obviously very good but spread too thin. This place was close to great but missed too many times.
