Good experience / Great mofongo in the Orlando area. People told me that it wasnt the best Puertorrican place to eat, but that wasnt the case. The food was delicious, best mofongo in years, awesome customer service. Looking forward to return.
THE WORSE SPANISH FOOD EVER!!!!. This restaurant is giving Puerto Rican food a bad name. Seriously! Such a great location and they can’t hire a good cook? My husband and I had to throw away the food we ordered.. The meat was hard and very salty – no taste, the beans were disgusting, and the rice was awful – it looked dirty. I am quick to give credit and credit is due. Unfortunately, Casa Mofongo is h-o-r-r-i-b-l-e!
WalMart Spring Mix. Quality of food – terriblePresentation – poorAsked for Kan Kan pork chops; what I got was nothing like the photo on menu of same dish. It came with a side of salad and we ordered other side of mofongo… the salad was basically a grab from prepackaged spring mix salad – no dressing, no extra, no tomato, no onions, nothing, not even salt or pepper to dress the thing up. And the mofongo was like an MRE – add water and move on, stiff, slight flavor. Took one bite of the Kan Kan pork chops, turned into a Kant Kant eat anymore. We also had the waju plantain appetizer, pass on this too. Bacon was like imitation meat on cheap Cheez Whiz melted cheese on plantain chips; sounds appetizing, looks intriguing, but leaves you with sour taste. I tried this place based on a few friends’ recommendations who said it was good… I have less friends now. THUMBS DOWN!!
Great food… both sangrias are perfect. I had the kan kan pork chop with mamposteao rice… it was perfect… wife had shrimp mofongo… very good. Plantain strips were good just let them know to fry them longer so it can be crunchy.
Food is very good. Service is very inconsistent. Have eaten there many times. 2 servers are good and attentive most others are HORRIBLE. One girl in particular was a disaster. Didn’t come to see us until 20 minutes after we were seated and there was hardly anyone else there. Had to ask her for everything… Utensils, dressing , had to be reminded to bring drinks twice. She obviously could care less and I go there nearly every week. If service doesn’t improve might stop going all together.
Had the stuffed chicken Breast stuffed with mofongo the menu said it had bacon but instead what I found was Cooking ham chunks the sauce that was on top looked like baby food pure and it was just not good Especially after the description mentioned that it was a cheese sauce Which it clearly was not. This was the lunch portion and it was $10 which I think is Outrageously priced. The white rice and red beans were just okay nothing to write home to mom about. The salad was a salad mix from sams club thrown on the corner of the plate warm/welted and not accompanied by any dressing. It truly looked unappetizing, I did not touch it. My husband had the carne frita pork chunks and these were good and flavorful however they needed to be more crunchy. This dish came with mofongo which Was pretty good however for a restaurant with the name mofongo this should have dazzled/shined And it did not. It locked in presentation and it also should have been accompanied with sauce/caldo. I’m not a huge fan of guavate in Waterford either but This place should take a page from the presentation of Guavates mofongo it’s expertly plated and tastes great too! I also can’t say much about the service that we experienced our waitress was just okay. It seemed like everyone was running around doing their own thing they didn’t acknowledge us when we exited and I would’ve liked for them to say goodbye thank you for coming in That would have been courteous service. Will not visit again.
THIS PLACE SUCKS. The servers were horrible and the food took much longer than it should, especially since there weren’t a lot of people. The server must have thought I was someone else because they were very cold and unhelpful. Another server kept giving me dirty looks and I didn’t feel welcome. The food tastes badly as well, it’s a waste of money. DO NOT GO. Save yourself some time and find another place to eat.
